SE needs to stop giving us stuff piece by piece just finish a whole fix/update/redo then give it to us. i cant even log in more than 10 mins after taking a month off.

seeing how this is MMO #2 for SE they should of got the point with ffxi after working on it for 9 years and having all the complaints from that game to see what to stay away from.

i think everyone who complains here is just impatient... ffxi took years till it is what it is now.SE cant do magic....give it some time. and i like it better if everything comes step by step instead of all at once.therefore u have sumtin to look forward to.

Like it was stated, since they worked on XI for 4+ years, why didn't they learn from it... and end up releasing what we have now?

I still find it funny people actually think these threads are productive in anyways. I always see the argument without this square will have no idea the game is not acceptable... seriously that makes me really question the intelligence of the English speaking community.

I can guarantee you the Devs could care less what your opinion is of their current update speed. The are releasing content when they are done with it, not before. All the complaining in the world is not going to make them forget about their familys and spend 18hrs a day/7 days a week making this game, for us all who are NOT EVEN PAYING TO PLAY IT!!! yea there is a box fee but hey with $12.99 a month free we are getting that was well paid for months ago. Chances are this game will not be acceptable in many peoples eyes for another 3 years... considering so many are blind to the changes that already taken place it will take that long before they notice enough changes to make a difference.

We getting New Quest, new missions, new jobs, endgame, dungeons, company content, more crafting recipes, new zones, a new battle system, and massive modifications to the world and class system. I think the devs have done a pretty good job of outlining what the path to the game will be. They have not released a specific date which they also told us why... because they themselves have no clue when it will be done.

As others said all those complaining are showing 4 things:
1) They are impatient as crap. Bored then take a break.
2) They are simply looking for justification to quit... if you hate the game then stop playing... seriously posting on a forum that you quit makes you a troll bottom line.
3) They are stupid enough to think complaining about the devs development speed will make them instantly release tons of content with new ideas and innovation.
4) Or #4 the people complaining quit long ago and think they are savior of the mmo world by preaching the word that FFXIV and SE is the devil.

All in all if you hate the game do not play it, if you cannot handle character development and need too be walked through the game then wait until it is added. Too many people expected World of Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy 11-2. Honestly atm I think people will rage this game fails until there is solo quest based leveling... and with that I hope everyone who is complaining because of that quits and goes to Rift, Tera, Gw2, LOLTOR.

Anyone else feeling bored with FFXIV?

I started playing back in december and even after a couple of patches, today the game feels no different then back in december.

Granted there was quite a few changes made and tweaks from the patches but nothing major or anything that imo makes any real difference for gameplay.

I was always so excited for producer's letter and updates from SE but now lately they all sucked. The last letter was ok but other then the screenshots for the new camps, there was nothing in the letter that we didn't know besides the fact that patch 1.18 will be coming in about a month and a half from now.

That is a long time to wait for a patch and so far i only saw Yoshi-p keep his promise of patches twice a month only once. There was always delays and reasons to push back even before and after the earthquake.

Patches are slow, small and bring little to no significant changes to the game. Communication is lacking, Producer's letters take longer to come and barely give 20% the amount of info the first letters gave. SE is playing the silence game, the dev never commented on the NA forums and Yoshi-p even stated that we should stop translating his posts as there is misunderstanding after so in a word no love or communication for any player besides the Japanese ones.

I have 0 motivation to level up. Behest get boring quick, Levequests are horrible(i used to play WOW and never liked daily quests and levequests are pretty much the same but with longer cooldown and poorly designed quests) Grinding? No thanks! If i wanted to grind my way to R50 i would playing a grindfest asian mmo.

So today i'm giving up on this game. I may take a 2nd look sometime after the first expension is launched but even then i'm sure it will only bring the changes we are all expecting to come now. I feel like SE is holding on on the real changes and major tweaks for the expension. Keeping us around with small patches and false hopes until they have the expension ready then they will have a reason to make us spend some more cash on an expension just to get the stuff we should have gotten with the initial purchase of the game.

I feel the same way. It's like playing XI with only using the Fields of Valor as content. Actually that's an insult to FoV as gameplay and strategy varies greatly between pages whereas ALL the leves are just a copy of the same thing.

The difference is that you weren't restricted to killing them in the exact position defined by the game in predetermined time-limit. And the mobs themselves had more interesting rule sets. Linking, aggro zones, time of the day pops, overall monster placement required strategy in just moving between zones. Mobs with truesight and mobs that detect sound. Weather. Book buffs chosen for the pt setup. Elemental weaknesses actually mattered and so on the list goes on.

A synced party in Qufim might seem mundane as everyone has done so much of it but under the hood there's a lot of things happening that all play a big role in player actions.

In XIV it's just start a leve follow the glowing dot. Attack until nothing moves, repeat ad infinitum.

Square Enix is very aware of the piss poor game they released at launch thus all these massive changes to not only the game but the development crew. I feel that lumping the sentiment "without this square will have no idea the game is not acceptable" as a English speaking only complaint is ridiculous, i see relatively the same argument on the Japanese forums from time to time.

The whole reason of these forums was so the developers could hear the player bases voice! it is ignorant to say other wise... Will the developers follow peoples posts perfectly and implement suggested changes? probably not, but they do want to see an overall opinion of the game. It has been said once and ill be one of those people to say it a again why must SE make the same mistakes as FFXI. FFXIV is free to play because they can not justify charging people for it, that does not seem like a viable pat on the back scenario..

Here ill fix that for you, remove new from the quote above and there you have it. Nothing that's been implemented is new, it is all rehashes of current content. The upcoming updates you refer to are so far down the road i don't even think its worth mentioning right now.. SE has made no effort to inform the players were they want this game to go, all they have stated are implementations or fixes they want to incorporate that does not tell you the path of the game. If I had to pay 12.99 a month for this game, I would have stopped during the free month. So I would gladly have my $79 for my collectors edition which in no way has been 'paid off by all these free months of wonderful game experience'.

I still love FF though, and I deeply hope this game can be great, because I would love to play an awesome FF online.

i just hope that when E3 comes SE will break their silence and hit us with what we can expect from the game. It is not about being patient as so many of you keep saying.... i'll wait i have no problem with that but i want to know what i am waiting for. I don't want to waste my time waiting for something that in the end will end up sucking.

Right now i know SE is making a lot of changes to FFXIV but what are those changes exactly? How will the battle system be changed? What will be done with the classes and character progression systems? I want to know if what you guys are asking me to wait for is worth it.
