FC Invitations...

So, as I'm running through the city/cities I keep getting invitations for FC's. Now, I'm not real used to the sudden invite style of recruitment. In EQ/EQ2 there's usually a dialog that happens beforehand...is this the normal method of recruitment for FC's? They're not sending me /Tell's or anything...so, I was just wondering.

I get it, too. I hate blind invites. It's one of the rudest things in the game, IMO. I always turn it down. What really bugs me is when the same person keeps inviting you. It's almost as bad as RMT shouting.

When I join a FC it will be because someone actually took the time to talk to me and make friends first, not because they spammed me with blind invites. I'm more likely to blist you than join you if you keep that up.

If you're interested in joining an fc, the forums for your particular server are a better way to go. Most fcs will advertise on their world forums, and then you can check out people's websites and figure out if you're interested in joining.

It is my personal opinion that the fcs shouting in game, because they have a lower standard for joining, will be of less quality and not last as long as those who make people take 10 minutes to fill out an application and make sure the applicant is a good fit with the shell.

I don't like being ambushed by a FC Join request or a Friend Request. I will automatically decline them.

If you want me to join your FC, then have the courtesy of TALKING to me first. I am willing to DISCUSS the merits of joining your guild.

But, if you want my help with a dungeon, that's different. I like to help players. I can be TALKED into lending a hand. (It's not that hard.)

I also got those invites. Sometimes from the same FC a couple of times in a row. I think it's a WoW thing.

I seriously don't get those invites. What do the FCs get for having 100 players who don't care about the other 99? Why should I join a FC if I know nothing about it?

Socializing put into numbers and corporate routine. Jeez. =/

Seems like the ones doing this are the ones trying to fill up their 512 slots. I like being part of a more selective community.

People that blindly invite people like that, have no standards when it comes to finding players. They just want to amass as many people as possible. They're just as bad as the random friend invite people.

It even happened in FFXI back in the day. Someone would walk up to you, pop open a trade window and throw in a LS pearl hoping you'd accept the trade. That one was always a bit more awkward to me since they are standing literally right next to you lol. Although yes, I do agree that people spamming the invite are annoying; once should be enough to know they are not interested. Maybe they just don't realize they sent you an invite since they are going for everyone. xD

That i can see happening from time to time, I know i've had the same person invite me to their FC multiple times, but it always happened in differnet areas of the game, meaning the most likely didn't recognize me. However, I have been the victim of the guy that will spam it over and over in the same area in the time frame of say, 10 minutes, lol.
