Gruda/Ifrit speed runs... did Ifrit in 6 minutes the other day:
Pal
WHM
SCH (me, cleric stance to max Int)
2 DRG
2 SMN
1 BRD
Instant Q time. Sure, it's not a 20 minute AK, but we didn't need to wait 40 minutes.

If this was a game without a subscription fee, I'd be a bit more accommodating, but if I'm paying monthly for a service, on top of the initial purchase of the game, I don't think it is preposterous to expect higher quality infrastructure and service than a F2P game.
The conspiracy theorist in me says they're purposefully dragging their feet on the matter to pad out this laughable mythos grind, but I suppose incompetence is another valid possibility. I do realize they want to avoid the TOR debacle of overestimating capacity, and a couple months from now they have all this excess because so many people quit, but I'm paying monthly to do content, not play DMV Simulator 2013: Take a Number Edition. Surely they can improve the situation a little.
Our current record for Garuda is 5min 12 secondsThis is where I once again point out that a good group can do 7 minute Garuda clears and get nearly as much myth from Garuda runs, while getting weapons for alts that are more useful than the AK greens. 7 mins in Garuda = 7 myth. Unless you're in an awesome group in AK you're looking at like 40+ minutes per AK for 40 myth.

While that sounds "brilliant" in theory, in practice it's completely ineffective. Even if alternative methods of ToM farming are added with the exact same amount of Tomes, people will still spam the one that is "most efficient". So say the new dungeons coming in patch 2.1 are such... whichever one people deem is "easier" will be the one that gets the "Reserving instance" problem.
lol @ the people actually defending not being able to play the game because:
"It's monday!"
"Traffic jams!"
"You should do something else instead"
"Give square time!"
"It's unavoidable!"
Inane.
I wish there was, but if I want to play with friends at 50 there is only ampador keep.
Wanderer's palace is designed to become obsolete after one run and gives less rewards as a result of being a tier down from AK.
Primals are designed to be ran once(ideally)
Coil of bahamut has a lockout.
It's sad but Ampador keep is the only end-game 4 man dungeon and the only thing worth repeating.
The only thing square enix got right with the end-game is the difficulty, there sure as hell isn't a lot of content.

Farming Garuda/Titan can be just as fast for mythology tomestones, minus that pesky wait time. Weapons/Furniture items are a bonus.I wish there was, but if I want to play with friends at 50 there is only ampador keep.

Wanderer's Palace is a good gil maker, and helps break the monotony.
Praetorium is the best place for philosophy tomestones.
Having a narrow-minded view of end-game is your issue, not SE's.
It's not narrow-minded at all, I killed garuda about 20 times today just because Ampador keep isn't working properly. It's not exactly fun. Neither is farming a story instance for hours to get items(Not that I need darklight, I've already done 100+ Ampador runs - goodgamelol).Farming Garuda/Titan can be just as fast for mythology tomestones, minus that pesky wait time. It's pretty sad that you have to keep coming up with excuses for square launching their game with only 1 relevant level 50 4-man dungeon.
