Relic Weapons and level cap increase?

So when the level cap increase eventually happens will Relic Weapons be made obsolete or will they continue to upgrade them?

Only reason I ask is that if they keep letting you upgrade them as the cap increases surely it will make all weapons after level 50 redundant if you can just keep upgrading it as what would the point be in using anything else if Relic remains top tier.

My guess is there will be quests to upgrade them further. Also note that you already have other ILV90 weapons in the game (same attack power and main stats, diferent other stats like parry or acc) so relics aren't the only best weapons in the game. In addtion to that, they did mention some kind of legendary weapon system where we'll get to see the "best" FF weapons like Excalibur, Gungnir, Aegis shield (yes I know, it's not a weapon) and so on.

Then the glow can grow bigger and change into other colors and eventually we have a Flyff version of FFXIV.

Yeah but like I said once you get to 50 if they allow them to be upgraded then surely anyone with half a brain would just start doing there relic and keep upgrading it all the way to Level 99 or whatever the final cap would be.

from what I've seen the allagan weapons have the same damage and primary stats and better secondary stats than the relic+1 and they already exist in game.

I suppose a relic line might be the parallel to the raiding line of gears and just keep getting +1 +2 +3 etc

Upgrading them would be dumb. Some may find it cool but I want to find legendary blades like excalibur and ragnorok, and also some awesome spears like gungnir and holy lance. I don't want Curtana and Gae bolg the rest of my days. As cool as they look I would get super bored with the same weapon model for the rest of the game, doesn't matter how many particles they put around it.

They should be obsoleted eventually. These are not really "relics" anyways. I don't consider an easily obtainable weapon a relic.

A Mythic Weapon from XI is a damn relic. I could never have even dreamed of obtaining such a thing.

They can make a new questline for it. We would probably have to kill shiva, leviathan, ramuh,, mogle mog, siren and gilgamesh and others to obtain it. youll probably need up to date weapons.from the previous encounter to kill the next in line anyway. (need shiva gear to kill leviathan etc)

Well they might just keep upgrading the relic weapons and just add new weapon models we can use in the vanity slot, so holy lance/longinus looks and gae bolg stats for example.
