    Main Story Questline

I have been slowly playing through the new main questline and I'm still not that far in (~level 17 just finished copperbell mines) and I have been surprised to read how polarizing the opinions have been about the storyline. I've seen a wide amount of hate and others of praise. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts about it and maybe one suggestion that could improve the storytelling aspect for YOU. Please NO SPOILERS.

While not very far in, I actually really like the storyline so far. Returning from 1.0, I had selected THM as my starting class, which landed me in Ul'Dah (even though I still consider myself from Limsa...), but having played through the story I am glad I did. I came to love the connection between my character and Momodi at the Adventurer's guild who gave my character guidance from a new adventurer up to one who is now trusted with major initiatives for the nation. I'm very interested to see how it develops and it is a major improvement over some other MMO's where I feel like I'm typically just running from one quest hub to the next. Granted, I will say that I have been reading all of the dialogue which I feel like I skip over a majority in other MMO's.

If I had to give one suggestion for improvement, I would like to see our characters interact more and have actual dialogue lines as a part of the story. I am guessing that they made us mute (save a few minor lines we can pick ourselves) so that it doesn't break the immersion of our characters being unique in how we view them (IE: "My character is a bad@ss he would hever say that!"), but instead I just come to see my character as the 'strong silent type'. Sometimes it just feels like our character is opinionless when there are these heavy topics being discussed by key characters, until someone asks you to help do something.

I would have liked to see more genuine character development. I spent most of the storyline wanting to references notes to remember who was who, or why this person is important, because it didn't feel like a lot of characters were well-established outside of your main ones. Even with them, however, I didn't feel a whole lot of attachment to anyone. That's not to say I disliked the story, because I did enjoy it, I just didn't feel as engrossed as I would have liked as things went on. I have other gripes but that's really my biggest one.
