Gathering: macro help please...

Is there such a macro that would allow you to manually start at a gathering node and then pick, for example, "option 6" in the list of possible gathered items - in this case "Ash Log" ... wait 2 seconds... "Ash Log" ... wait 2 sec...

Anyone have any ideas? I tried looking around online but with no success.

I was looking for something like that myself, but then I realized if that were possible it would make farming with bots too easy. Set the macro to repeat and go to work, come back that night to big stacks of mats. Very abusable...

I don't think the node "refreshes" at your current location... I think once you use it, you have to go to another site to make the previous node respawn. I could be wrong-but I've stood in 1 spot for like 15-30mins once and didn't see the spawn point come back.

Anyways - besides that, they already have their hands full with ridiculous tele bots-which is just so stupid it's beyond words how they possibly have no code in game to identify when people are going so far (point A to point B) in absurdly impossible rates that they aren't immediately banned??

Naw - I am asking for completely pure, and legitimate purposes. I will be here manning my machine-it's just a little bit nicer if you know exactly what you are farming to no-think push a button like that. I mean: manually start the process, but then if you know what you are farming at that point being able to do a macro like I'm asking is no different than any of my other macros that actually DO automate the combat process.

I agree...there should be some macro to help with our gathering...Or just the ability to drag out the icon for whatever you are gathering so you can use the buttons on the keyboard rather than the mouse...hard on the old mouse finger...

You can in fact macro fishing. For mining/botany, you can use the ol' num.0 key. It's not much of an improvement, though.

Yes, it seems absurd that the most involved portion of the game i.e. combat, is the part you can macro any different way possible, however something as simple as the confirm function, does not have a /command so you can automate it.

The only thing I can think of otherwise is to use a program like Xpadder and setup a repeating button click macro. You'd have to start the node, but it would take over from there.

Fishing doesn't need a macro...the 1-2-3 buttons work for everything. I tried the num0 key thing and it doesn't work very well...and only seems to work on the top choice...

I could really use a better way to mine ore. Seriously, who came with the "fun" idea of making gathering work like this:

go find another node, then another, and then go back to the first one.


WHO thought this was a good idea?!

I would SO love to make this automatic or less mindwreckingly monotonous. Why can’t I just leave the character to dig the materials? The game could still need the presence of the player (like you would have to confirm your presence with a key stroke every 30 minutes). Oh, Now I remember why. BOTS. If the game was console only we wouldn’t have this problem. >/

I have to turn on a string of youtube vids just to have something entertaining to watch while playing the game (I mean only the mining part). The irony is stunning.

WHAT? Why do you need to select the item everytime? I select it once for the area and just keep hitting the action button only plus it stay selected when you reach the next node as well - one select per area if you're gathering one item type. It's even easier on controller - after the initial selectoin of the wanted item all you need to do is to walk up to node and keep pressing teh same button (unless indeed you want to use buffs etc.).

that's the point i want to be able to go up to a node and only press the button once untill all the node is mined out, im lazy and having to press the button multiple times when i only want to mine the one item is boring and bothersome
