    Prefer Pugilist?

    After leveling Pugilist to 30, and getting Monk unlocked... I'm noticing something very lack luster about Monk.
    Why Marauder for cross-class?

    I'm finding more use out of the Archer cross-class abilities, like straight shot to increase crit rate, and raging strikes to increase damage.

    I can't really see myself using any ability from Marauder as a monk. Fracture looks okay, but why use that when I have Demolish and Touch of Death?

    And why waste my time with a gimped version of Misery's End (not that Pgl can use Misery's End) when it has a 90 second cooldown.

    Am I just missing something here?

    monk gets 20 more str (at level 50 atleast) passively and access to 5 unique monk abilities. Endgame it is worth it, at level 30 you only have access to one of those abilities. for a dragoon atleast there was little reason to be a dragoon at level 30. also you can pull abilities from lancer as well as a monk (blood for blood, invigorate)

    We may already have Dots with touch and demolish but the usefulness of fracture shouldn't be underestimated. In situations where you're forced to break off from a mob to deal with adds/ avoid bombs in titan/break someone out of a rock etc etc then every Dot you have on the boss helps. If you can be damaging the boss while you're not even there it's a pretty useful.

    As to reasons to pick MNK over PGL.

    Well lets start with Fists of Fire. 5% dmg increase. Not 5% for X seconds with a recast of X seconds. 5% dmg increase all the time you have fists of fire up, which can be all the time if you wish.

    Dragon Kick - The bonus for using this from opo opo form reduces your targets INT and resistance to blunt dmg by 10% for 15 seconds. You do blunt damage, this is good. If you're fighting a mage type mob then with 10% lower INT he has 10% lower attack magic potency.

    One Ilm punch - goodbye mob buff, nice knowing you.

    Shoulder tackle - wheeeee! Worth it just for the fun it is. But it's more than just fun. Gets you back to a boss quickly after avoiding stuff allowing you to get in an extra couple of hits before the other mellee. I've even used it to get across titans landslide and not taken damage while doing so.

    Rockbreaker - aoe with over twice the potency of our arm of the destroyer.

    Dragoon uses skills from Marauder too lol (makes just about the same sense as for MNK: none)
