Better to have been delayed to ensure a working service than to have released it with faulty functionality. Honestly, if more game companies worked like that we'd never have broken games that need Day 1 patches. I'm actually glad it was delayed, at least then I know they care about the quality of the service they hope to provide.

First off, "scheduled" is as released...as in "the release of the game is scheduled for XYZ date." If we want to nit-pick, perhaps we could look at a train schedule as something more similar. They try to hit the time, but in general they are on a schedule. But the train being late on it's schedule, and repeatedly in the case of SE and this game, is not an excuse for it being acceptable.

And as for the specific server, I'm not even sure why you're adding that to this discussion since I didn't bring up anything about that. Stop assuming everyone is in the same situation. By looking at your profile, you've been here since version 1.0 so there's a really good chance all of your friends are with you on your server, so you probably don't give a crap about server transfers except for maybe having a lower queue. For those that are coming back from version 1.0 and wanting to get to hang with their friends after they talked them into buying the game, I don't think that's at all unreasonable.

Yes, there's actually a huge difference between a projected and promised date. "We're aiming/hoping for mid-September" is nowhere near the same thing as "It will be fully operational on X date" or "It will be ready some time mid-September." We received an initial projection, an estimate, not a promise.

Just taking the link from above, the line is "World transfer service is scheduled to begin mid-September." Aiming, hoping, projection and estimate aren't in that sentence. Again, I don't think that everyone is in the same boat here and if you're fine with your server and all of your friends are there, then to be honest, I don't see why defending this topic is a matter of concern. If you're in that situation, I'm happy for you. Many of us though, are not.

This needs a bump. I really hope we can transfer before the weekend. Or in the worst case scenario, before October. What is consuming me is that they said mid September or "very very soon", and then they went silent.

Well we all can talk why we need this if like it or not but in reality SE just have 2 really lame reasons too do this.
1: as for now most off the servers at max.how you go there? Lets not forget that se said they will make the servers biger but never really did it.
2: most of the players have FREE game time so they wait for it 2 and .then they see how many people pay 2 them and do like half of the job.

I've been waiting a month to change servers. By the time I realized my friend were on another server I had invested to much time, so i figured i'd wait till server transfers. I leave for japan the end of October, i'll be on a ship where i will have little to no personal internet so basically i see this as the last i'll play for the next 3 years. I have plenty of want and "need" for this service and i check the loadstone every day to see if it is up.

Now that you understand my point of view, your retarded. Mentally hindered if you wish to go by dictionary. Do you have ANY idea what goes on in the back end of a game? a TON of stuff. Yes, the job of a game developer if to try their best to make their paying customers happy. They don't, however, owe you a damn thing.

As for your scheduled comment. That doesn't really mean it will happen. It means we home, plan, are trying our hardest to get it on that date. The game was just far more popular then they expected. Tell me would you rather be able to transfer servers and not be able to log in for hours on end and have a shitty quality game when you could? I wouldn't. I am a little angry that they have not come out with it but shit happens.

To comment on your bashing of the guy who informed you about the limits of the server transfer, calm down ... he is just trying to inform you the best he knows.
