Relic Weapons and level cap increase?

So when the level cap increase eventually happens will Relic Weapons be made obsolete or will they continue to upgrade them?

Only reason I ask is that if they keep letting you upgrade them as the cap increases surely it will make all weapons after level 50 redundant if you can just keep upgrading it as what would the point be in using anything else if Relic remains top tier.

They can make a new questline for it. We would probably have to kill shiva, leviathan, ramuh,, mogle mog, siren and gilgamesh and others to obtain it. youll probably need up to date weapons.from the previous encounter to kill the next in line anyway. (need shiva gear to kill leviathan etc)

Well they might just keep upgrading the relic weapons and just add new weapon models we can use in the vanity slot, so holy lance/longinus looks and gae bolg stats for example.

I actually would love them to introduce Vanity Relic weapon skins. That way people can upgrade their relic and still keep the nonglowing version or if they're looking for a different colored theme one they can get it from Vanity Relic weapon skin.

I say different color because, for example, dragoon AF1 into AF2 changes their armor color from purple into Azure but the Relic is still Purple color but now glowing in +1 version. It feels a bit out of place.
