    Laptop temperature in benchmark

I've got FF14 on PS3. I recently got a new laptop and ran the benchmark on it, just to see if it would work. It scored about 6k on laptop standard, which is more than enough from what it says, but I also noticed that the air vent on the laptop got a bit warm, verging towards hot. What I'm wondering is how reflective this is of actually running the game? I know the benchmark is designed to stress the card, but I don't really know by how much.

    Laptop specs:
    HP Envy M6-1107TX
    Windows 8
    i5 3210m processor
AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics card

Those specs are fine. Laptops aren't generally known for being good gaming machines, either due to poor cooling (buy a cooling pad) or due to underpowered parts.

Please keep in mind that laptops "emergency thermal shutdown" results in the laptop physically turning off to save itself from damage. This is expected behavior for laptops.

This seems to be a pretty good measure.

I found the solution to your problem. If you spent over 600 dollars for a HP laptop do yourself a favor, get your computer and trade it in for a asus or acer brand. I've seen so many HP computers at my work station due to hard drive failures, cooling fan failures, motherboard issues like bad ports. They always seem to go out after a years time. I see 5 HP laptops and 2 HP desktops daily. They are not a very good brand (i see these more then i do dells). If you want a quality computer go and trade in for a Asus or Acer brands the parts are more quality and give you a overall better performance.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for. I know it's never going to be a powerhouse, or even necessarily decent. I can live with low settings. The main point of it is to do uni work, it's just a bonus if it happens to play FF14 too.
