The clones phases are the most healing intensive of the fight, especially the first set where everyone is crammed into a small area and getting hit by Garuda's Friction aswell.

Whoever is off-tanking should just focus on one of the sisters and try and keep hate on it while DPS burn down the other one. You or the other healer will be tanking it but it doesn't hit all that hard and you should just be able to heal through his attacks with no issues.

Ideally you want to be as geared as possible - before taking on the next step of progression.
Once you hit 50, you can start getting

    ilvl 50 Market
ilvl 55 via WP + Market.
    ilvl 60 Ifrit + AK
    ilvl 70 Garuda + Darklight
    ilvl 80 Relic/Titan
    ilvl 90 Relic +1 / Coil

You generally want to get as much as the previous tier before working to the next, this is not always the case as some fights are easier and you can get carried by other people in the group, there are fights which are more reliant on gear and some can be done totally by good execution. You will want to be almost fully ready for Titan and Coil, and be decently geared for AK since there are DPS/Healing/Tank.

From WP, AK, Ifrit HM. They can be done with AF1 + Weapon from story quest.

If you ask a question, "How do I know?" then here is my answer. Try all dungeons, including option one, and up to final story one. If you are not leveling with FATE and know how to rotate your skill, then you are ready.

The main problem is not gear, but skill especially with the FATE grind all over the place.

Garuda HM has dps check, e.g. easy one (plume b4 reckoning) and harder one (twin sisters)

Titan HM has dps check (heart + dmg after heart before unhealable)

p.s. Ifrit HM also has a dps check, but it is too easy if you have a caster for meteo in party, otherwise it is a real dps check.

I don't see the issue with ifrit.... he isn't a dps race nor a healing race, and will do just fine with AF white. (and how do you get a GC50 without AK first, no one would have GC50 anyway unless they get carried in AK)

Even with the worse white weapons, at most you'll be getting one or two more turns of ifrit rush...it's not a big deal, the party either knows what they're doing or not.

garuda is way tougher, and more gear sensitive so that is indeed a gear check event.

But generally any fresh level50 with a decent head on their shoulders should be fine with ifrit to chew on, and unless they have really incredible luck, that'll keep them busy for a while.

If anything a sub job check is more important. Being gimp in some important skills is very bad at the start of endgame runs.

I have 2 hardlight items and waiting my 3rd before i go inside ifrit hard mode.
But if i'm correct i can offtank and do stuns, which would be easier for a new geared tank, correct?

Oh man, this. I'm glad I was told as a CNJ to level up THM to 26 and get Swiftcast. Swiftcast+Raise is absolutely a mandatory combination for WHM in the endgame.

Any. There isn't a really harsh check to tank Ifrit, Warriors do it all the time. Better geared means you are less prone to dying durring the nail phase, but generally ifrit doesn't hit hard enough any fresh pld can die with a decent party.

Being a stun bot doesn't require gear, just requires...skill. They don't care if you're just auto attacking, as long as you stun that erruption.

Again the only phase which better gear is remotely required is durring the astral phase, and if you have stone skin skill, and have your defensive buffs all ready, you can easily live through that part, and all is good.

Ifrit isn't very difficult. I went in with a LV44 aetherial weapon from D. Darkhold with AF and crafted lv49 accessories. By the time you go after Garuda you should have some stuff out of AK and the Ifrit weapon or something close to it like Wanderer's Palace weapon from last boss or level 50 GC weapon. Titan you want to want to be geared up in at least all greens from AK with maybe some Darklight in there. A Garuda weapon would really help.

While I agree that it is the most healing intensive part, I disagree that the healer should be tanking any of the clones. Your tanks should be able to pick up all 3 enemies and hold them without much trouble. Keep your Shroud of Saints for when they spawn if you're having issues with getting too much threat, and make sure the ranged and the melee are spread out so that they aren't all taking Wicked Whirls.

    Have fun!
