Basic option to stop Hacking Account through IP Address?

In 1.0 and every MMORPG there a security where if you are log in from a Different IP Address, you need to confirm and give that access to that Computer either with a password a confirmation that that IP Address is allow to log in.

How they do this is email you the password or the link. This option was available from 1.0 and why it is remove from 2.0? This way, no Hacker can log into you Account because of the Different IP Address?


I just a bit concern because so many gold seller arise and spamming now as well as hearing so many people got Hacks.

No one is getting hacked. Those who claim they are, are going to those gold selling websites that give you them a keylogger. No hacking, just player stupidity.

BTW, I heard there is an iPhone Ap that can have a one time password instead of the Token? I own a Token before, but I'm skeptical to use it because I heard from people they lost it, battery died, or it stop working. Would have to spend weeks to get back into the game from Customer Support if this happens.

The accounts that get hacked are the ones that tried to buy gil through a website that planted a keylogger. Simple. Those who tried to buy gil deserve the ban.

back in the beta, i had to change my password several times because i play in 3 different PC and laptop
so each time you play on a different IP, the game will ask you to change your password for safety

It gives you a recovery password that you could use if you lose your phone or whatever, which you can write down somewhere. I'm sure you could call support and they could help recover your account if something like that happens. I haven't had to do this with this game, but when I lost my account in World of Warcraft, they were able to recover it in about 30 minutes.

But I do recommend downloading the app since it is free and makes it much more difficult to get hacked. They essentially need to have your phone even if your ID and password was stolen.

Just stop using Internet Explorer and its cookies to login.

Shouldn't be that hard for SE programmers to create their own encrypted browser engine for the game launcher.
