This video has been spoken of in legend, but no one knows what FC did it or what server or anything.Yeah, but extreme primals are coming out, that will likely put everyone's panties in a bunch .. lol, but if you're in full Allag it wont even matter probably, there is a group I heard that has gotten this boss to 10% but I don't know who, nor where the video is, some friends watched it on a stream.
no gear check? our tanks are getting one shotted at around 70% HP of the boss

Sorry but in this case it's kind of true.
While Turn 1 and Turn 2 are execution checks, Turn 4 is a gear check. You need enough DPS to advance through the waves. While it's possible to make up for a lack of gear with exceptional skill and squeeze out more DPS than the average party, most groups won't be downing Turn 4 until they have a couple weeks of gearing in, and their Relics+1 on DPS. Turn 5, similarily, is a mix of a gear check (having the highest HP pools possible certainly helps survive the punishment) and unforgivingly perfect execution, along with, unfortunately, luck, in terms of not being screwed over by the RNG.
hrum i guess everything was doable and not random after all!
Yup. Dark light is more than sufficient for every encounter in the zone, more gear just makes attempts more consistent. I'm asking this because I'm willing to bet that if phase 3 didn't randomly kill off raid members on 80%+ of attempts and waste 8 minutes of your time every pull that the encounter would have been killed already. I honestly don't believe that anyone has found a viable repeatable strategy. It is morale and soul crushing to throw yourself at a boss and get one clean attempt at phase 4 and beyond for every 30+ minutes of progress because of randomly unavoidable mechanics.

I really like the encounter personally, as noted in your first post, you think its "horribly designed". Is this the first time you have done an encounter without a strategy this difficult? I think all of the mechanics of the fight have a reason (well except one) and test your raid in an entirely different way for each one not just in Turn 5 but the entire Labyrnth.
Just think of it like, SE is throwing 25 man encounter mechanics at 8 man content BUT they aren't so unforgiving that there is only one set strategy thus far. Examples: Caduceus split has 2 options to kill, and oh we kill ADS with 4x melee while everyone else does 4x ranged as far as I can tell.
Personally I give huge props to SE, I didn't think this level of encounter would ever be produced by JP developers honestly.

Well that's a pretty arrogant remark to make. I agreed with everyone you said before this sentence. Japanese ppl have some of the sharpest mind sets this world has seen. They are constantly pumping out new technology and/or making current tech smaller for conveniance but creating a difficult raid boss with tight tuning is past their abilities? If instead you would try to claim the comment was in regards to their stance on difficulty then lets not even go there because they are the ones who like things hard.
WoW generation has spread like a disease, not that im saying you're from it but rather that it in general bred easymode gear seekers.
