Seems everyone got on the hate train for fates. Anyone still think fates are an amazing and fun system?

I still enjoy FATEs. Of course, I don't do them all of the time like some folks have.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
The most useless topic today.
Seems to me you're just looking for attention, particularly due to the topic title and message. It's always been beyond me why people do this.
I'd shy away from something like "OMGZORZ FATES #1 BESTEST THINGS EVAR" but it is a good system that could benefit from some tweaking, such as actual scaling where more people means tougher mobs etc. Currently it doesn't do that even though we were given the impression early on that it would.
It does need improvements, but it's not bad/terrible/whatever.
FATE is awesome. When you need 400k+ exp to level there nothing better. If there is a down side it has to be all the people leveling to 50 in quest gear.

That is the problem... I am sure a fate that gives you 10 levels would be awesome but it would destroy the game.
I actually really liked the FATE trains in beta, especially in Drybone/Highbridge. There were enough players that it felt like people were working together, but not too many that everything was dying in 5-10 seconds.
What I don't like is how the players use FATEs, not necessarily the FATEs themselves.
"But it sure beats grinding on the same monster for hours on end!" ...Lesser of two evils ftw.
I still enjoy them. Guess that's part of not abusing them. /shrug
