This helps A LOT. It doesn't make the problem completely go away but it does make it a lot better.I haven't gotten far enough in game to do the other fates mentioned, but personally I haven't had any issues whatsoever loading Svara (on and off peak hours). I did however see a post on reddit that mentioned a little bit of a 'fix' for this particular issue and it went something along the lines of:
Esc -> "Character Configuration"
-> "Control Settings" -> "Character" -> "Effects while in motion" -> "Off"
-> all "Battle Effect Settings" -> "Show None"
-> "Display Name Settings" -> "Display Name Presets" -> "Hide"
-> Disable Battle Text

I haven't had this particular issue in game yet but it looks like this has helped a lot of people.
Can you add anything about what this means exactly? Does the game / is the game supposed to dynamically determine the number of things to display based on system performance? Why not just let the user be able to control it instead?Display prioritization adjustments
FFXIV: ARR has been designed with a system to display the appropriate number of characters while maintaining non-laggy conditions even when there are a large amount of players centralized in a location. However, even though this system is working, for these two FATE there is an issue where Odin and Behemoth are not being displayed. In order to resolve this issue, we'll be putting in a separate system specifically for these two FATE, and addressing it so the enemies are displayed properly even during times of congestion.
And why do these adjustments need to be made specifically for two fates? Why can't the whole display priority system be adjusted? Shouldn't enemies, which are a threat to you, have a higher display priority than other players?
Glad to see that there is a response, hopefully this will be taken care of soon. Also, please make it to were raising people counts towards credit. As a WHM this is the majority of the time spent on these fates.
How likely are you to run into these issues in the other 98% of the game? You never run into the issue you do with Odin/Behemoth/Svara because pretty much the entire server tries to rush out to these specific ones which you then run into the issue. It's fine in most of the game, which is why they specifically mention where the issue happens.Can you add anything about what this means exactly? Its not just them FATEs its the same all over the game! My personal opinion is that mobs should take priority then team members then everyone else not the other way around. I get fed up of doing FATEs were I can not see the mobs or my team mates. Making it hard to heal my team or do damage then I get no reward cause i could not do anything! your culling system needs to be sorted!Hello,
The development team is aware of the issue that occurs when a large amount of players congregate for the Odin and Behemoth FATEs that the server can becomes unstable and characters are not displayed properly.
Also, we understand that this same issue is occurring for other FATEs as well, but we are prioritizing Odin and Behemoth as this issue occurs much more often in these FATEs. We'll be addressing other FATE that have a high degree of urgency afterwards using the same methods.
Sounds like a good start, but there are two other things that need to be addressed as well:Display prioritization adjustments

* Monsters blinking out of view can happen on other fates: Svara's Fall, etc.
* Party members can blink out of view/become untargetable on many of these fates as well, which for a healer/rezzer, is an even bigger deal than not being able to target Odin/Behemoth. Party members should also be prioritized above all other players.

My favorite part about FATES is going to them and not being able to fight anything but I have a clear view of the 20+ people arounds chocobos.
This seems like the wrong way to fix it. You should make enemies and party members always take priority.

As mentioned, these two adjustments are high on the priority list so we can address this issue; however, it will take a little bit until everything is completed. We apologize for any inconveniences until then.
It's not just these two FATEs. FATE bosses like Svara and Gorgimera also suffer from these issues.
The game should prioritize MONSTERS and PARTY MEMBERS. I could care less if I can see the other thousand random people on my screen, this is all that is important.
