Sounds like a band aid and not a proper fix, you should just admit that FATEs were a mistake, just like retainers and the crappy marketwards.

Okay, so you took care of the 2 biggest FATEs. Now fix the actual problem and change the loading priority to prioritize monsters over other players, companions, and egis. I would much rather see fate monsters than a bunch of chocobos and tiny ifrits.
Same happens with Svara etc.. I can't heal anyone. It's a pain in the behind.
So Im on the PS3, have never seen either of these fates. And I still have an issue with models displaying... I don't even need to be in a fate, I can just be running around and I have to wait for npc's to appear in some areas. And yes in fates it gets much worse. But this is a worldwide problem, not just a specific event problem

Display prioritization adjustments
FFXIV: ARR has been designed with a system to display the appropriate number of characters while maintaining non-laggy conditions even when there are a large amount of players centralized in a location. However, even though this system is working, for these two FATE there is an issue where Odin and Behemoth are not being displayed. In order to resolve this issue, we'll be putting in a separate system specifically for these two FATE, and addressing it so the enemies are displayed properly even during times of congestion.[/list]
It's good to hear that the issue is being acknowledged and worked on but...seriously? They're only going to do it for those two fates, specifically? Even if it doesn't have an impact on other FATEs, or not as much of an impact (plenty of people have experienced these same symptoms on Svara as well) why wouldn't it be an across the board change? An emphasis on Player > Monster > Party Member prioritization would in no way harm other FATEs, and the way it stands now only serves to be detrimental if more players do show up for them.
There is no reason for this not to be the way it works for all activities in the game. It'd be silly if it wasn't.
At the very least, give us the option to disable other players minions/summons/etc, if nothing else but for targeting reasons.
As a PS3 owner, the very thought that Yoshida and his team were aware of this and sold the game to us anyway.....I don't want to go there, I just don't.
Please be excited for PS4.
So much whining, they're aware of the issue and are working on a solution for the 2 FATEs that are actually an issue (other FATEs with multiple mobs it's much easier to still find mobs, and Svara is in a much smaller area and rarely gets moved all over the place, making it much easier to find).
I would like to see monster > party member > other prioritisation too, but did you guys ever consider that that may be a much bigger fix than you think? It could mean that each model has to have an identification tag on it in a category that doesn't exist, meaning they would have to go through the entire game's files and modify every single enemy or some shiz like that. At the end of the day, it's still damn easy to get gold in just about any FATE (aside from Behemoth and Odin), and even if you CAN get gold consistently in Odin and Behemoth, the gear from them is crap anyway...

YOU ever consider that doing it now is better than leaving it til later when ther are numerous large scale FATE's ?I would like to see monster > party member > other prioritisation too, but did you guys ever consider that that may be a much bigger fix than you think? What happens when they add the lightning and Shantoto event ?
