Am i the only one who thinks early game is too hard?

Im not sure why there aren't more posts on this subject so i am going to make one here.

I have been struggling on my lancer to level it up, everytime i try i die repeatedly, ive tried using potions to keep my HP numbers up but it just doesn't work. No matter how hard i slam my head against the keyboard i cant seem to hit the right buttons fast enough and the monster just destroys me.

I really love this game Square enix, and im very glad you didn't make it like that other trash-can MMO you made that no one played, but the difficulty still needs toning down.

I want to play the game but with this level of difficulty i just cant bring my self too...

Before you question my level of skill, i can assure you that i am a certified MMO veteran as i have played WoW for a little over 30 years.

If anyone at all can help me out i would be thankful, i just really don't know what to do.

Dunno what to tell ya, but this game is far easier than WoW!

Keep trying different strategies or play a different class, maybe Lancer isn't for you.

Sry man but low lvl lancer is easy you can spam 1 button and win most the time.. What are you fighting or doing that your dieing?

You're fighting random monsters to level your character up? that's wrong.

try to do FATE and Guildleves. Do the main storyline quests and dungeons.

Lol wow has not been out for a little over 30 years lmao. The early game is very easy to be honest. I\\'ve been playing mmorpg games since 1997.

If anything, your gear really sucks, its almost all grey crap! Do fates, earn seals for your Grand Company and get some better gear from there or run some dungeons if anyone will have you with that setup...le sigh

Or hell, you're an Armorer, make yourself some better gear!!!

Lancer can be tough at first, I've been there. The HP growth isn't great, and you can't wear heavier armor till somewhere around 15, so the early levels can be pretty grindy. If you're able to, you may consider coming back to it later so you can get the 50% exp boost if another class is a higher level. Once Lancer gets to about 15 it's a whole different experience.

Don't underestimate Feint and Keen Flurry (I think? the parry move) at low levels. They're pretty significant. And don't worry about placement when you're soloing, just spam your combos and the mobs will go down fast. For now, I'd recommend "over"leveling the quests and such, *especially* the class story quests, because those can be nasty tough when you don't know what's coming. Keep your gear as updated as possible, you need all the defense you can get because of that bleh HP growth.

Well.. I dunno what to tell you, but yeah I think you're in the minority on this one. If you're having a difficult time though, I suspect you're just.. doing something wrong. Now what exactly it is you're doing wrong, I'm not sure, but.. yeah.

Leveling conjurer or arcanist will give you a healing cross class ability you can use. Hope that helps...
