Steps:
- I solo queued for an Amdapor Keep group as a DPS with all languages ticked.
- I took part in the group and advanced to the first boss.
- After wiping several times, it was obvious that the group was not going to make any progress, so I left the group by opening the the Duty Finder window and clicking Leave.
- Back in my server, I did some leves as a Culinarian in Limsa Lomisa while the 15 minute timer went down, I also physically left my computer to get a snack.
- About 30 minutes after I wanted to queue again for Amdapor Keep, but the Duty Finder still said I had 15 more minutes until the Duty Finder was available again.
- I left the window open while writing this bug report and it went down to 4 minutes left (I was still a Culinarian at this point).
- I zone to get my next tradecraft leve, only to find out that the timer is reset and it's back to 15 minutes.

Needless to say that this is sorely disappointing. Why wouldn't the timer go down while I was doing leves and while I was afk? I tried logging out and back in, changing classes. It would not go down, unless I left the window open, which kept me from doing any other activities. I cannot do leves because every time I zone, the window closes. I cannot do fates or gather because the window occupies a large chunk of the screen. And apparently I cannot zone either! The long queue times are punishment enough for dps classes

May I suggest to make this 'deserter' penalty a debuff instead?

The timer only resets if you stay on the class you left with. So by switching to Culinarian you froze your duty finder reset timer until you switched back. It is pretty dumb I have to say. :/

It went down as I wrote the report and I was a culinarian, the Duty Finder window was left open.
