Leveling any class other than main to 50 sucks..

Like subject says.. Its really nothing but grinding dungeons fates and leves and ya those are fine for the first 20 levels. Even grinding the dungeons are fin because you only had to run them 3 maybe 4 times before you could get into another dungeon but having to run it 6 to 7 times just gets boring. Fates are boring as hell being unless you get into a group to do them, which I have nothing wrong with group play, and unless its a "NM" fight its hard to get full credit. Leves are ok as well but still its just gets repetitive doing the same leves over and over again. That and the exp from leves is horrible.

I don't see why we cant just do all the quests, other than story, again if we are re-leveling an "Alt".

Ya I do understand that there are people that don't mind mindless grinding, so this post is not directed to you. Would like some feedback or if SE has plans to change this some info would be nice. Ty

SE has stated they have no intention for anyone to be able to level all classes with quest alone.

Unless Yoshida has changed his position first job can be leveled by quest, other have to be leveled via other content combined with other quest alone.

My suggestion to you is to party up on fate, the xp is alot higher. People are also finding mobs outside fates you can level for decent amounts of xp.

Just remember quest grinding is no different the fate/dungeon/leve grinding.

I have a 36 BLM progressing to 50, a 41 WAR progressing to 50, my "main" MNK 50, and GSM at 50. Not too hard, I should think. FATE grinding seems a chore and is soul-sucking, while some dungeons (Brayflox's, Stone Vigil) are fairly lucrative for EXP grinding. I'd say ... stick with it instead of just doing ONE thing to level.

I would just suggest increasing the xp from instances. Starting with increasing monster lvls to the max lvl allowed in dungeon so that u always get chain bonus. Then in instances make the kill xp % bonus stack multiplicatively instead of additively.

I agree. Like I said the first few instances are nice few runs and you can move on to the next but im in cutters cry right now and it took 3 or 4 runs to just get to 39, so by the time I hit 41 i will of run it almost 15 time... just overkill.

I thought an interview with SE said the patch in Nov is supposed to make quests repeatable when you are on another job?

I ran Brayflox's over 20 times in order to get my full Infantry set for Monk. It was cranking in EXP, and pushing to help others fill their sets. I ended up getting most of the Battlemage set for BLM in the process. We were practically ready for Cutter's at that time. It's what you do if all you want to do is run dungeons to level up in! If you feel that's not enough, then perhaps you should add in other stuff, but you should have to work hard for those levels, not press a button and you're there. I think the experience gain in some dungeons (Haukke) is a little low, but then some of those dungeons you don't have anything to farm for. Not so Cutter's or Brayflox. Take it easy.

While I know some people hiss and burst into flames with the mention of this game, at least its not like FFXI pre-aby. It was a grind from day one with any job, first or not. Most of us actually liked it too because of the social atmosphere, it just took ages if you had a life. Also, yea I know, "THIS ISN'T FFXI", that point has been made quite clear by others; still, it is the same company so some concepts are bound to remain similar.

We need more than fate grinds, fate grinding is resulting in high level people with no gear and no idea how to play their class (neither even being their own fault). Leve's are pitiful and dungeons are "ok" but lack of exp chain past first level and if you do not have rested they are terrible.

    here is how I'm leveling:

I already have a level 50 mnk from 1.0. I'm not touching it at all this time around.
I would like to level Gladiator/Paladin this time. So, I'm using that job to go through main storyline quests.
However, I also want to level Marauder/Warrior. So for a while I occasionally used that job for main storyline quests.

I hate mage jobs, but at the same time, I want to have them available at least at a mid-level. So, I'm using each city's side quests to level those jobs. Thaumaturge is leveling off all side quests in Uldah, any fates I see as I'm going through quests and the hunting log. Arcanist is using Limsa, and Conjurer is using Gridania.

I'm not using all my quests for one class.

Right now, I'm at level 27 on Gladiator, and between 19 and 21 with the rest of my classes.
I don't expect to be able to easily take them all to 50 this way, but it spreads out the xp a little, allowing the leveling to feel less grindy at the low and mid levels.

Granted, I'm pretty sure this will change as I get to 40 and above. That's when I plan on taking some of these jobs into dungeons via duty finder Random. Get some xp, get some practice and add some variety to the FATE grinding.
