Never seen so many lazy people playing an MMO

I could understand if this were a game that didn't have so many convenient ways to travel. If you died in older MMO's you have to run for a long time to get your body back which actually helped you discover the world better. Here it's like people are breaking their nails it's sickening

Even in WoW people actually ran back to their body or even ran to the closest resurrection point. When I see people say "OMG i'd rather die than play WoW" but you can't even run back to your own body without yelling for someone to come rez you in this easier than ever MMO on the planet game, disgusting

Man I'm glad I'm not into this like other games I've played, the world of the adventurer has been reduced to laziness

I had someone yell at me because ...

I didn't raise them fast enough

I was on my Botanist. Found a Dead Body. Switched to WHM (costing me like 450 GP).

It takes about a minute for Raise to be ready.

He send me 5 tells yelling at me telling to to hurry up.

    So, instead of a raise he got {Lalafell} {tea} {bag}

This is pretty much a throwback to FFXI. People would lose EXP for dieing so there were regular raise shouts.

If you are able to raise it really is not that annoying raising people. Actually it can be a good way to strike up a conversation with another player. As much as it could be considered lazy I think it can also be a very small effort (from the healer) which perhaps can help a little to build the community.

Anyway, if you don't want to raise then leave them in the dirt, and if the death-wails annoy you there is always an ignore option.

Not everyone places their homepoint in the zone they are currently in. Either it's a choice they make or they just forget to set it. So when the walk back is from Limsa Lominsa to Mor Dhona that would be a pretty long walk back or costly teleport. I'm not saying people have the right to be rude about it of course. But there is reason why some are hoping they might get a raise from a friendly fellow who's in the same zone as them.

Asking for a raise and demanding a raise are two differnt things, for sure. If you die in a zone different from where your home point is, then you need to deal with that fact, suck it up, and move on. It's nobody's issue besides your own. If someone helps you, than that is awesome, and you should be both happy and thankful. But to assume that someone owes it to you to raise you, and to demand them to be fater or how to do your job, that is entitlement in the very sense, and they can lie in the dirt in child's pose, lol.

I haven't moved my homepoint once. It stays right in Ul'dah so I always have that free teleport back to town with Return. I can't imagine moving it anywhere else.

thankfully more than enough people in-game do not think like you. I gladly move halfway across a map to raise someone and then smile when I realise there's usually at least 3 other people just arriving when the dead body is being lifted already.

so far people are really helpful. I'd rather keep it that way. I do NOT consider walking for hours 'hard'. if I want to walk for hours I go outside and walk there.

    1) As a White Mage, if I happen to be in the same area (generally about a quarter) of the map as the person yelling for a raise, I'll generally do it. It doesn't cost me anything, and hey, I'm right there anyway.

    2) I would totally walk away from anyone who complained that I wasn't fast enough on the raise. And though I wouldn't do it, I am amused at the Lalafell tea bag.

    3) I generally play for an hour or so after work. If I've only got an hour, I don't really want to spend twenty minutes travelling. I don't mind the number of quick-travel options, and I'm really glad that one doesn't have to wait fifteen or twenty minutes for the airship to arrive, and then another five or ten watching the airship travel.

When I'm in adventure mode, I almost always swap out my homepoint to whatever is closest to where I'm working. Having lived through naked corpse-runs in other worlds, it's just a habit.

That said, I try to raise folks who ask, even though I often wonder why they didn't bother to bind nearby. If I'm fairly close and can reasonably get to them without endangering myself, I'll generally give it a go. Everyone has always been polite, which is gratifying. Haven't raised a grump yet.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind folks that, if you use <pos> in your raise request, you make it easier for people trying to find you.

Typing "/sh May I get a raise at <pos>" will create a link in chat with your current coordinates. When people click on the link, they'll get a flag on their map at your specific location. When I see raise shouts, I try to mention this to help spread the word. I think of it as a Public Service Announcement .
