Casual and relaxed FC "Vagabond Knights" [VK] looking for mature and nice players

After being disappointed by a few fc's in who claim to be social, friendly and helpful but never deliver on their promise, my friend and I are hoping your new FC could be the one.

We are both mature and experienced MMO and RPG players with families, jobs and real life obligations, and we're looking for that one FC to call our home. Home means a friendly group of likeminded people who enjoy playing this game (not just rushing towards endgame) and enjoy playing this game together. That means doing dungeons together, fatefarming, raiding, whatever. And ofcourse, even if we all go do our own thing, a lively fc chat full of funny foolishness, serious conversations and whatever comes to mind (I saw a post about food... mjam. Perfect!). I mean, that's the reason why you'd want to be in a guild/FC in the first place, right?

I'm pretty sure Darius is asleep right now being some crazy timezone for you European types, but as an officer of Vagabond Knights, perhaps I can answer a few of your questions.

We are helpful and friendly to the point that we are brimming with healers and support classes, and people fighting over who gets to help who through runs of Tam Tara and Copperbell Mines
Most of the FC is older with kids, jobs and real life, who when they get on, want to relax and be social and have a good time. In all my years of gaming I've not come across a nicer and more mature and relaxed group.

We currently have 26 members, quite a few of those are RL friends and couples, most are around late 20s to early 30s character level wise, with a few 50's who are waiting for us all patiently to catch up.

There's no pressure to come on and do, but so far I've noticed there is always something on if you'd like to be included. If you just want to run around and gather and craft, noone is going to growl at you. If you put your hand up and say "Hey guys, I need help with xxx instance" I'm sure you'd have a bunch of people wanting to come and help.

Most of us have raided hardcore in other games, myself included as a hardmode progression heal class leader in "that other game" for many many years, so there's no reason that we won't do hardmode content, it's just we will take our own time to get there, and enjoy the victory with friends, not some rude randoms from the DF.

If you're not in a rush for 50 and phat loots and care more about the players and the journey, then I think we'd definitely be a good fit

I know what you mean by being disappointed with FCs, I just couldn't find one that seemed to fit my playstyle, and while the FCs I tried weren't all bad there was something lacking. You know that feeling you get, the one where you look forward to logging in and teaming up with fellow guild members and have some fun, while in the meantime there's zero pressure just as long as you enjoy yourself and have a laugh. It just wasn't there in the FC's that I did try out. VK is everything that I was looking for and more, to me it feels like a home away from home. I'm enjoying the ride and it's where I want to be so to speak

Everyone is willing to help out and get involved with helping out the lower level members to achieve their goals in order to progress through the game. And the most important of all, and those with families will understand, if you have to leave suddenly because of RL, no one's gonna be mad at you. As Bel said this has gotta be one of the nicest, mature and relaxed group that I've joined. (I can't say it's the only one, because I was in a really nice Kin when I played LOTRO )

Just wanted to share my views of a place that I'm very glad I found and welcomed into and all I can say is thank you Darius!

Reading your posts really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, as it really seems like the home we're looking for. It's the social aspect that makes me play MMO's. The people, the chat, etc is what makes me want to login and play. Without it, I might as well play an offline RPG. This goes for my friend as well, though he's a bit less chatty than I am.

We play to enjoy this game, not to rush to endgame content. Atm I'm leveling up a WAR and a SMN, my friend a PLD and a BLM. But if a certain class is really wanted/needed (and it fits my playingstyle, like perhaps DRG and MNK), I don't mind leveling that up as well to help the FC out.

I would be very interested in joining up. I have tried a couple of free companies but all they seem interested in is increasing the member numbers and not delivering on the "friendly and social" part.
I am experienced in mmo play and in raids and high lvl content but find i do not have the time of motivation for that dedicated and somewhat tyrannical mindset anymore lol

At the very core of our Free Company is enjoying this game together in a stress free and friendly environment. We all like to enjoy everything FFXIV has to offer without the pressure and elitist attitude a lot of progression FCs have but also avoid the lack of familiarity and teamwork that plagues most of the "invite anything that moves" FCs.

There are two things that all of us have in common, and those two things I (and the others as well) are looking for in an applicant.

1. We like to do things together. No matter if it's just running dungeons, or chatting about indian cuisine, we like to be social and we like to be friends. If you are not looking for that, we are probably not the right FC for you.

2. We like to enjoy the game without stress, drama or being told when and how to play. No member will ever be told by me or any officer to level a certain class/job for a raid, to be available for certain times or to play their characters in any specific way. In return we ask you to respect the other members RL responsibilities and choices just as much as you'd like your own respected.

Everything else is minor details and sorts itself out. Neither I nor anyone else really cares what class you play, which country you're from, what level you are and weather you play on PC or PS3. As long as those two rules are as important to you as they are to us, you'll always be welcome here.

If you're still with me after reading that, let me give you some brief information about the state of the Free Company.

As of now we have around 30 members of which most are active (even though casual). Most of our members are between level 20 and 40, with a handful of people at level Cap.

We are running dungeons together pretty much daily, but so far it is mainly lowlevel and midlevel content. If you are looking for an endgame FC, I'll be honest here, we don't have much to offer in that regard yet.

Most of our members come from all across europe, with the odd Australian and American. In European time we're most busy in the evenings with a good few members online in the afternoon and usually only a few in the mornings. Most of our events are taking place around 8 pm GMT+1.

We are having a ventrilo server, but joining is optional. We do plan to raid once we have enough members at level cap, but it will be casual raiding, focussing on fun and enjoyment rather than dedicated progression.

I've been looking for a good home on Phoenix and it sounds like your Free Company might be that place.

I'm a fairly relaxed and sociable player, who is up for pretty much anything ingame from FATEs and dungeons to raids, as long as it's fun and there's no pressure. I like to chat (sometimes a bit too much *cough*) and I'm always happy to help out other players when I can.
