    RMT Mules

Hey, SE, take a GM and just stand by the mail moogle in Ul'dah and tell me what you see.

I bet it's a group of level 1 Hyer some with keyboard-mashed names 24/7 interacting with the mail moogle. Been like that since day 1, some are there for days. If you bothered taking 15 mins tracing the transactions you could no doubt shut down the botters that are feeding them and the scum players who buy from them.

    But you don't .. why?

Because they don't care. They support bots, rmt and exploitation in dungeons. They do not care at all.

didnt they just ban like almost 1k accounts because of this?. I'm sure they are taking this serious, but they also need to be pretty sure they are taking action against the right people.

At the moment there are no way to "on depost" gil into the guildbank. Hence why a lot in my own guild are sending gil to our guildmaster. We are a rather large guild saving up gil to buy a guildhouse once it comes out in 2.1. I am sure there are other guilds out there doing the same thing.

Going though logs and double checking stuff takes time. Give them some slack and they will try their best to take care of it.

After having my account compromised, I see a really good reason for why SE has been so latent about banning these accounts:

A lot of these RMT have exploited some security flaw to access accounts that were not registered with a security token. A lot of people have had their accounts compromised without going to any malicious websites; they simply came home from school or work and found their accounts suspended.

So this leads to a bigger problem- do they ban all the accounts outright, or do they attempt to un-suspend the compromised accounts while trying to determine which accounts were created soley for RMT and which were compromised?

    Good luck, SE.
