When you subscribe for your 30 days you will have both of your characters inactive. The first one you log on with will then become your primary. I don't know how they will go about letting people switch active accounts, but it will probably be limited. (Once a month? maybe?)

My advice is to pay basic subscription and if you still want the entry level price you can subscribe for 180 days and get a discount making the price the exact same as the basic level price.

You can also transfer sometime this week. This would make both accessible, since the entry subscription allows for 1 character per world and up to 8 total. I believe they will make it free to transfer, but they haven't said for sure. I honestly believe they will give everyone a free one time transfer to make up for beginning server issues.
