You know, I was going through the quests in Ul'Dah on a whim as usual (via a Lalafell GLD alt), and I kept noticing some strange things. For one, that each city-state has a secluded, instanced area not unlike the Waking Sands (and not to mention that Ul'Dah has several NPCs that are not mentioned much, if at all - especially if you're Ul'Dahn). These areas are only accessed for the one Level 15 quest in each city-state, and then you don't visit it anymore after that.

Does anyone else think that these areas were meant to serve as Grand Company Sidequest hubs, but didn't get much exposure in the finished product? I feel like something of that nature would've been a nice questing cover during those few grindy areas (to go along with the RoZ-esque story we seem to have now with the Empire).

Second, did anyone catch the bigass gate in Coerthas on the Southeastern side (by the Observatorium)? Considering that the one zone is only PART of Coerthas, and quests mention that there's more to Ishgard that what we see there (not to mention they have a leader - an Archbishop, of whose identity is a mystery to me at the very least), makes me think that we only got a small chunk of Coerthas at launch, and that there should have been more.

Third, the GC hunting logs reference non-story mode dungeons in at least three of their kills - Page 1 has Halatali and Page 2 has Sunken Temple. Makes me wonder - were those dungeons perhaps supposed to be part of a sidestory (GC story), by any chance? It's speculation, but I feel like there was some degree of those two places that wasn't exactly touched upon when release hit.

All of this leaves me thinking: Did Yoshi-P get hit with time constraints when he put those things there, or are those things that'll get included with content updates? It just seems silly to not have that content there, even though it looks like it should have been.

What are your thoughts?
