    Crossfire support?

What gives? I'm crossfiring Radeon HD5770's and it doesn't feel like FFXIV is giving a hoot about it. Feels like I'm running a single card when I'm in game. Does this game not support crossfired cards?

Running the latest 11.3 CCC drivers, here's the rest of the rig:

    AMD 955 @ 3.6ghz
    8gb DDR3 Ram
    Radeon HD5770 x2 (Crossfire)
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

FFXIV only supports crossfire in full-screen mode. Can you confirm that you are running in full-screen mode?

Yes I'm aware of that, I always run it in full-screen mode. My question is does FFXIV even support Crossfire to begin with? If it does, it is certainly taking piss poor advantage of such a setup.

It DOES support crossfire and SLI. But not as well as it should.

You should easily be able to tell if both of your cards are being used, versus just one.

Hello everyone. I am experiencing the exact same issue that Capella is talking about. Using the following setup I receive what can only be perceived as no noticeable difference with one card or two.

    Here's all the info:
    CPU - Intel Core i7 930 2,8GHz Socket 1366
    RAM - Kingston HyperX DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 (a total of 12GB in 2GB sticks)
    GPU - 2x Gigabyte Radeon HD5770 UD HDMI DisplayPort Dual-DVI 1GB (setup in CF-mode)
    DVD - Sony Optiarc AD-5240S
    USB - D-Link Bluetooth 2.1 USB Adapter 25m
HSF - Scythe Mugen II Rev. B
    HDD - Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD103SJ 32MB 1TB
PSU - Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W

    Fresh Win7-64bit install.
Latest Catalyst drivers. (and Catalyst Control Centre also report CrossFire as being enabled)
    Fresh FFXIV install.

Also note that: Portal 2 (runs AWESOME at max settings), StarCraft II (runs AMAZING at max settings)

Using normal settings in fullscreen mode. FFXIV preforms like CRAP on this rig. So, what gives? Is there some sort of magic trick I have to preform in order to get this to work?

Feel free to chip in with any advice that you think might help the situation.

    Thank you.

    /Gasher

The gains from crossfire are minimal. I am running dual unlocked 6950s and get about the same performance as when windowed with one card. Radeon Pro lets you tweak the crossfire profile for a little better performance but until square or AMD get things together, you'll have to deal.

AFAIK the game does not officially support CF or SLI. But there are still ways to force it on(through the drivers or with a tool). Doing that I cannot recommend though, since it most likely will cause your game to crash at some point. Also the GPU is rarely the bottleneck for this game, so don't expect huge speedups even if you get it working.

    I run a 5970, I7 930, 6 gigs ram

My fps stays usualy 55-60 fps out side of town , in town 30-60 , in fullscreen crossfire, but i get a strange horizontal blurred line that shows up so i have to run it off one gpu of my 5970 in windowed mode, and when i run it that way i usualy run about 40-60 out side of town , and like 25-55 inside of town, but i dont have the crappy horzintal limne blur.
I've tried every driver , still same problems.

They need to do something about crossfire, my rig is currently running crysis 2 on max settings in fullscreen with no problems. Its the programming in this game thats the problem imo.
