and not every class in wow has a battle limiting system.
Paladin tanks do not have any such system at all in world of warcraft.

battling feels boring in my op, because of visual cues, and lack of challenging opponents, is SF slow, because people dont attack all the time? nope, they can control their output and strike when its to an advantage.

Its like what would streetfighter be like, if all the same things were in place, but all the attacks looked the same, and none of your opponents blocked, and most didnt move, and you were only allowed to fight them with them at a 50% hp and damage reduction, yeah it would probably be pretty boring. but thats not because of the actual mechanics, thats the execution, and the enemy difficulty.

i absolutely agree that the effects and lack of any strategy is the other 50% of what is making battling boring, but to me, the other 50% is the stamina gauge on all classes (at least take it off for mages after tweaks...), the lack of auto attack (sorry guys, i love using spells/abilities > having to press regular attacks), and the lack of ability-key assignment... keys 1-9/3 bars.........really?

WoWs secondary ("TP") resource system is pretty well fleshed out (mainly because it has been constantly revised through the years in addition to taking a few gambles that have paid off).

Basically all classes have a primary resource (essentially mana, but varies with class). In recent expansions they have phased in secondary resource systems... which is basically what TP is. However, the difference in systems between the games is that in FF, the system is kept as a flat mechanic across all classes, but in WoW the system is varied across classes... some.classes may have another mana-type resource that is generated by using certain abilities, others might generate 'combo'points, etc etc

It's really a lot to explain, it has alot of intuitive complexities to it and a thumbed cell phone post doesn't do much justice. XD

As for a system like that promoting mainly "tank and spank" fights that take no skill, that is an entirely false misconception. Most of the top-level encounters in WoW involve a lot more than hugging a boss hitting buttons. I fail to see how 'not being able to constantly sit on a boss and spam' is even a valid argument against the system - this is easily negated with engaging fight mechanics.

Honestly best not to even talk about wow, its a totally different system with a whole bunch of different stuff in it, its a totally different game and mechanic.
Talk about how things effect this game, with current or percieved likely changes in effect. Someone would probably have to have played wow a substantial amount to know how the systems work, and compare it to anything else.
