Could be because it may be 9.30 am or 7.15 am where you are both at, but a good half the population could well be in an entirely different timezone and it be late afternoon or early evening for them.

Given that the OP was talking about an EU server and an EU timezone, I'm gonna guess that they do in fact realize that not everyone lives in the USA...

The last step in the fixes, the server transfers, should be very soon. That should alleviate the issue. In any case though, at least you aren't getting 1017ed. No matter the queue length the longest it's taken me to get on (I'm on Midgardsormr) is a couple of minutes. Also is Odin or Bahamut due to spawn? That will entice a lot of gamers who otherwise wouldn't be on at that time to log in. 7am GMT is also only 11pm PST and on a Saturday night no less so you have the tail end of NA prime time for any NA players who happen to be on your server (whether by choice or by force).
