As a WHM there are some fights where I'll put Regen on everyone during it, but that is VERY rare. I know when to use it and when not to so that doesn't happen to often.

Other than that I only ever put Regen on the tank after they have established hate. Then I keep it active on them. If Regen is still active after the fight and we engage more mobs I make sure that I am right next to the tank. I've seen when tanks have Regen on them before a fight that mobs will come at me so standing next to my tank helps him a ton with pulling establishing enmity on any mob instead of running around to catch the ones on me. Then I can move back a bit.

I love Regen and used properly I can put out more dps which only helps the team by being able to help kill mobs faster. For the WHM's who don't DPS during dungeons you should be ashamed.. We can put out a TON of DPS! Just remember that we are healers first and DPS second and all is well..

Yep, I've had some very good healers that see the arrows come to them and understand why. Most white mages understand not to use regen in-between pulls anyway.

    However, too many haven't learned.

Honestly, regens are there to assist the healer with healing, so that they need to heal less, and especially overheal less, and cause less enmity.

    Bumping.

Without an appropriate way to remove buffs while playing on the controller, the idea of removing the buff before each pull is cumbersome.

A simple fix here would be for SE to adjust how regen generates enmity *and possibly* to look at how much enmity the spell generates, though that's not important.

It is important that spell no longer generate enmity per each tick but rather on initial cast.

I play a white mage, think of regen before fights as a tool to teach tanks about enmity Though at 50 I would not suggest it.

I think the system is fine as is, so some advice for healers that have problems with hate that care to listen.

Just speaking from personal experience. Its best to heal based on how much damage the tank is taking. Mitigation during pulls will not only help your tank control hate but further wide the gap in enmity between you. Keeping a shroud rotation even when you don't need the mp is also a very good way of managing aggro. Keep in mind how much the mobs auto attacks do on your tank.

Good example, trash mobs do 700 damage combined in auto attacks to your tank. Your tank has 6000 hp respectively. So, 18 % of that in a stone skin 1080 hp that's mitigated. In that instance its better to just roll stone skins rather than cure or use regen. Sleeping excess mobs also lowers it to virtually nothing. Once the tank firmly has control, roll a regen behind a stone skin if there is a need.

Now you have the ability to cleric stance and help burn mobs. Stone II helps the tedious nature of farming go faster.

Yep, I end up clicking it off everytime I pull so they don't aggro me and than run off to the healer before my GCD is over so I can flash....

I realize there's a little bit of coyness to this comment but regen doesn't teach a thing about enmity other than if they can't establish hate before the first regen tick, things are a mess.

If you're *really* doing this, at any level, you should reconsider. You're not teaching things, you're deliberately making gameplay harder.
