Character Creation Restrictions

Any words on how this works? I'm desperately trying to get onto a server where all my friends are (Balmung), but it says character creation is restricted? Is this permanent or do chances open up every so often (like in the morning or late, late night?)

It really sucks. I'd love to get into the game and have fun with my friends, but I can't until the restriction goes away, if it ever will.

I've made a solo character on another server (Zalera), but he's honestly just to dilly-dally around on. I got bored of waiting, but I still am waiting to make a character on Balmung.

This week should be the week of Server Transfers. Should is the keyword. Unless they pushed it back...
I think late night, early morning is your best bet.

Make a character in the morning or late night during the week. This last week all servers were open when i checked each day at around 8 AM pacific time. Every friend of ours that was waiting to get into our normally-restricted server has been able to join us.

The restrictions open and close based on server traffic, ergo make a character when less people are on.

yep, definately what Estellios sugested.
i managed to make a character on Moogle only becasue i got up early (for me lol) and decided to check. took the BF a full week befor he could make one becasue he tends to check after noon (i created mine about 9-10am UK time)
take a peek at what are *peak times* for the realm set you are looking for (EU or NA) and try early morning for that area
