    A List of Suggestions

Note - This is a repost. I posted this in the wrong forum by accident before.

This is my detailed list of things that should be done in Final Fantasy XIV. That being said though, this isn’t a list of everything that should be done. A lot of what I think should be done (such as removal of surplus) has already been talked about by Yoshi P. As such I feel no need to re-iterate planned changes.

    Gameplay
    • Add a central linkshell bank with a tiered system. Members of a higher rank can make certain items irretrievable by lesser ranks. I feel that this is a very important system created in World of Warcraft. I’m the only carpenter in a linkshell with a ton of archer’s. I’d love to just dump 50,000 arrows in the bank for them. It makes it easier for them to retrieve what they need and easier for me to distribute it. Of course banks can be abused, but I feel the advantages far outweigh the faults.
    • Remove Anima from the game and make teleports cost gil. If the system used something like “1 Anima = 1000 gil” a lot of people still wouldn’t teleport like crazy (especially the non-crafters). So I feel like this would balance it all out. No one I’ve talked to likes Anima, but they love teleporting. I feel removing it and adding a fee would please them while still making it a tough choice on whether or not you want to do a ton of teleports all over the place.
    • Have your current skill bar(s) save with classes. So if I switch out from Pugilist to Lancer, the game remembers my previous Lancer skill setup and automatically restores it. Most people don’t like having to write Macro’s for switching classes to be an easy transition; this would all but eliminate that.
    • Allow players to completely restore all attribute points for a small fee (say, 2,000 gil per Physical Level). I feel this would be best implemented by have a skill reset character in each Adventurers Guild (similar to how each one has a linkshell person).
    • Add a keyboard shortcut to allow us to automatically hide/show all names on the screen. I personally would prefer to play the game with names off and just hold down a key (such as the “Z” key) to show all names in the area if I’m looking for someone.
    • Remove the 36 hour Guild Leve limit and have Leve’s reset every 24 hours instead. In addition have the 8 leve limit apply per rank. That way you can do, say, 8 rank 30 leve's and 8 rank 20 leve's in the same 24 hours. Right now we have to make a choice: do all the Leve’s for our main class, or go and do them on a sub-class. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do both without having to make compromises?
    • Allow Linkshell administrators to kick players from it without the player even being logged in. The current system requires the admins to be near a logged in player to exile them from the linkshell. Well, what if that player stopped playing the game? How do we remove them then?
    • When normally crafting have a system that detects if the crafter has the materials to craft the same item(s) again and prompt him/her to craft it. Similar to when crafting for a Leve how it prompts you to craft another item after you finish one.

    Graphics
    • The transitions from mip-mapped to non-mip-mapped environments is very rough. This is extremely noticeable in Limsa Lominsa on the side of buildings. It’d be best to make this a very gradual effect.
    • Most objects in the game don’t have a long distance mip-map. Instead they just appear out of nowhere. Please fix this. It’s very distracting to be looking towards a camp, see just the campfire, then have parts of \the camp appear at random as you get closer. Plants and vegetation do the same thing.
    • Please improve the texture filtering. Currently the highest option is only 8x filtering. It’d be nice if 16x was supported.
    • A bug exists where trees and shrubbery will heavily flicker when Depth of Field is enabled. This is extremely noticeable in Coerthas. I don’t know whether this is just an AMD card issue or if it happens on Nvidia cards as well. I can provide a video if prompted.
    • Increase the range of shadows, or at the very least give us the option to increase the range. Right now shadows only appear if they're within about 10-15 feet of the player. Personally I'd like to double or even triple that. My machine can handle it so I feel the option should at least be there to do so.

    Sound
    • Please have our sound options apply to the main menu. The sound and music on it are way too loud compared to my in-game sound settings. It's quite annoying.

Hopefully some of these changes (or all of them) get seen and implemented by the developers.

    agree with them all!

I would prefer (instead of paying for reset of attributes) the game save changed attribute distribution as well as the skill bars when changing classes. Simple, fast efficient, and player friendly.
Current system is far to limiting and slow.

oh and add mail to that list of goodies !

Do that, PLUS have it remember what you were wearing last. (Or at least have some way to save and equip 'outfits' , some way that's simpler and easier than the current macro method)

That changes at level 23, when you can start running level 30 leves. There are two level 30 camps, and two level 40 camps per city. So you can run 6 leves per city.

I think the reason they allow more leves than you can do at one camp is to encourage you to level something besides your main job.

I realize this (as my highest rank is nearly 31), but I still feel it's valid. At the very least I feel that the 8 leve limit should be restricted per rank. So you can do 8 rank 30 leve's and 8 rank 20 leve's in the same 36 hours. The current system doesn't much encourage doing leve's at lower levels if you can pick up leve's for your main job.

This has bothered me from day one. I think the graphics overall are great for a MMO, but this is a odd effect.

I've added this to the "Graphics" section:
