Are you guys still looking for a Melee DPS?
Are you guys still looking for a Melee DPS?
We are currently not looking for a melee dps for any immediate raiding spots. We are still openly recruiting skilled players. If you feel you are in that category feel free to apply.

So any suggestions for fairly new players working towards this level of play?
I seem to fall short of the requirements you ask of new members but feel at a stand still on how to get there.
I think of myself as being pretty dang good as a healer. I've been playing casually for just over a month now.
I'm in i82 gear with my SCH finished as far as my cross class skills.
I finished C1 in a pug though C2 today was less than stellar. I have reached a point in Garuda EX where healing isn't an issue but the DPS always fails, causes insta-wipes and then quits right around the time Echo could have maybe helped them.
So do I just stay without an FC and keep running this stuff in pugs?
I've been looking for other resources such as linkshells that may be a little more organized and use voip like vent or TS but so far have had no luck.
I understand completely where you're coming from. However, there is a starting point for everyone.
You should continue your search, Behemoth is home to many causal communities such as 404guild.com along with others.
The only way to improve is to play move. Even if that means running with pugs. If you desire to play at a high level then your answer is to always improve yourself.
With every encounter there is a learning experience in my opinion. I also play SCH and I always feel I improve with each pull whether it be mana management or overall healing.

Maybe my problem is patience =(
I've been Healing & Tanking in MMO's since the beginning of the MMORPG era back when they were text based.
I've healed and tanked in end game raids for so many games like WoW, DDO, Aion, LOTRO, etc. that coming to this I find healing easy and group sizes small.
So when I come in here, yeah, I learn a bit from these failures but I honestly feel like I'm playing the lottery.
Finishing these runs has nothing to do with my skill, it's all about the luck of the draw whether or not I get 7 other random people also capable of finishing it.
Even if it were the same 7 people over and over people learn from mistakes, but it don't work that way with random groups.
The length of time in a games life cycle before PUG groups start running what "was" end game content is very slow.
By the time you can run it in a pug, it's not end game content.
Hi Lunatari,
sounds like you need a static, try keeping up to date with the forums, healers are always in high demand.
Imho a static will solve many of your problems. It will give you the exposure and practice with end game, whilst limiting the pug random factor.
patience is a big deal with end game also, since on some fights some people (myself included) need days and days of practice b4 being able to complete.
lastly, a word of advice on pugs, don't do it. join only party finders that advertise "full FC" or "7/8 static" I see these types looking for healers often. Pug only when u want to practice new stuff.

My last FC actually told me to pug until I had learned to pass the content because I wasn't experienced enough to run with them.
I've watched the party finder, always looking for groups like you've described but they always want experienced people that have cleared it.
To be honest though, I've only seen very small numbers to begin with so this again feels like another lottery.
I have massive patience when it comes to the actual fights. I don't "leave" or get upset or really even care if there is a wipe. When there is one I think "did I play a part in causing that", "could I have prevented it" and "what could I have done better". I'm the guy that usually votes no to abandon because I know my odds are better of us getting it than they are of starting over with the next group.
I've started looking for linkshells and I've been watching party finder... Any other way you can think of to find a good static group?
I can't really think of anything else to say, just keep an eye on forums for a static, healers get a spot very easily as they're highly in demand.
We all went through what you are going through now. I wish you luck and hope you find a good group soon.
feel free to send me a friend request, Robo Rat is my ign. maybe we could do some dungeons or something.
best of luck 2 u
