The Alternative Way of Leveling Weaver without Fleece

Okay, the fleece prices on my server is kinda bad. 1 Fleece can cost 5k Gil.
So, i tought: Is there a diffrent way?
And i´m going to tell you how.

First get a Miner Lvl 1+

Second get to Weaver Level 35.

    Then get Botanist to 36.

Right, first get Lightning Shards. Not 100, not 500...just keep mining those shards till you get alot. And i mean ALOT.
The best place is Royal Allagan Starway in Central Thanalan.

Now head over to Camp Tranquil located at South Shroud.
Around the Camp are bushes you can harvest Flax.
Now for the fun part. Start at any bush, then go a circle around the rock going from one bush to another grabbing the Flax.

    Continue below...

Keep doing this...around and around...when you get tired ,or say a stack head over Central Shroud, then East Vien.

You´ll now be hunting the trees around the water here for the Crow feathers. These need to be HQ as well.

Now we got 1 stack of Flax, 1 Stack of Crow Feathers. Head over to Ul'dah Steps of Nald and the Adventures guild leve. Grab the level 35 Leve Tradecraft that requires 3 Linen Hats.

Now for the final part. Craft first Linen Yarn HQ. Important that it´s HQ.
Then craft the Linen yarn into Undyed Linen HQ.
After that use the Crow Feather HQ, Undyed Linen HQ and the Linen Yarn HQ and make a Linen Hat HQ. Make 9 of these and turn them in.
If done correctly you should be getting 210k exp.

And that´s it. That´s the Alternative way. Unless someone else have a suggestion.

Nobody can touch your Botanist nodes, nobody can mine your node, thus nobody can steal your stuff.

    Enjoy.

There's already bots farming the only spot to get fleece it seems, up by dragonhead, and so far , not seeing any tradecraft leves that are giving fleece as a reward, looks like nobody except the rich going to be able to level weaver up now..

seriously... only one group of enemies in the entire game drop these needed items? good job Squeenix lol

I had my eye on the linen hat leve. I think there's about five camps in Coerthas that I've seen that are fleece heavy, spaced enough apart that if you were camping one, you'll most likely be able to snag up three of them before a lv50 finishes their camp and hops over to yours.

Some of these high-demand material drops do seem... broken. One class can just run circles around some mining nodes and pull out stacks of material to mass-produce gear and another requires an item drop from a specific monster, of which there are 16 in the whole game.

I'm just glad Tradecraft leves are still so lucrative so we can push past these limiting-factor barriers.

To be clear, the monster-drop factor in making gear for yourself isn't miserable- but it makes grinding out a level miserable.

Referred a linkshell pal struggling to farm Fleece to your post. He thanks you for it.

Also, if you're interested I made a post asking them to add more Karakuls. Make sure you post in it to increase the chances of getting a Dev. reply:

Ill be happy once all the server side issues are for the most part cleared up. While I'm sure not all the resources are being devoted to fixing that stuff once its done I hope we see a larger series of ban hammerings for those annoying people using bots and using the Mineing hack.

The issue is that the way materials drop is broken. Having any tradeskill entirely dependent on a rare drop from one group of enemies essentially creates a controlled market that is perfect for botters to exploit for the purposes of supplying all those gil sales sites that everyone gets spammed with (people buy gil from site to buy materials farmed by site run bot). This has been the downfall of many MMOs.
