Same here on Shiva server, it's been 90% unplayable for the last few days. No actual lag problems before. My internet connection is as perfect as ever, and now that i've read the forums, it really seems to be a SE issue. Hopefully they do something about this quickly, really frustrating..
Hope to see atleast some announcement that they have acknowledged the problem and are trying to fix it..
Even the ingame bug report was so buggy and laggy that i was almost unable to report this..

I have had no lag whatsoever when playing this game before today(except for the .333 ping that we all suffer from of course) and when I logged in to do Titan it was absolutely unacceptable. It started as just a second or two delay in my abilities, but it quickly ramped up to everyone being frozen in place for several seconds at a time and eventually it would last 10 or 20 seconds. After two attempts I had to just apologize and leave and I was directed here from one of the members. I was just forced to subscribe to this game last week and if this is the level of service I will be receiving I may have to see about getting a refund.

I guess they won't make any move, until subs kick in and people spread out on the content. Why would they boost the hardware or network now when it might become oversized in a month.

Yea so instead they will force people to leave the game and end up with oversized hardware and networks.

Thank you for responding, Kraggy. I think you may be a bit confused, but there isn't any direct blame, more of a want of communication in general.

I understand where you're coming from. I can definitely justify my thread by the fact FFXIV: ARR lags alongside COD Black Ops which runs stellar on the same network and internet. So while you have a slight point that ISP's can do this, it is actually rarely done with household internet. Most throttling is done through cellular phones.

THE GAME IS PLAYING JUST FINE.

There are feature video from multiple ISP's that yield the same results. Some even worse, that experience disconnects instead of constant lag, or possibly both. It is documented.

This isn't a blame game, but almost like a cry for communication. As someone in the Network Security field, I am not convinced this is 'ISP throttling'. I'm not sure I understood the meaning of your response, because it seemed less constructive, but like before I thank you for responding!

A little update for me. I tried playing again yesterday. I'm still getting hit with lag and frequent disconnects.

And I reiterate: I can do all sorts of other groovy, data chomping activities without any issues. Additionally, I have tried protecting my traffic with a VPN, which, if throttling were occurring should defeat these problems, no?
Well, it doesn't work. I'm on a nice shiny new AC dual band router, and so far as I can tell I'm the only one on 5ghz in range in the neighborhood so I reckon that I'm not encountering interference issues either. (besides I've had interference problems before and that affects everything, not just one game.)
In fact, that's it right there. How can my ISP be the issue when the only thing suffering adverse effects is FFXIV, even when I'm using a VPN so the ISP couldn't know that FFXIV is even happening to throttle it?
Throw in that this is happening all over the world.
Maybe I'm being dense, but I just don't yet see how these problems are under my control or that of my ISP.

Oh also, I've run a myriad of antivirus/spyware/rootkit scans for good measure and everything is coming up roses.

Yeah the same lag and 90k error have been happening with me also on the Mateus server. This game is a lot of fun but thats only when you can play it. I dont enjoy playing the game for 15mins-hr and then dcing back to back and having major lag spikes. I really hope SE fixes this problem soon. I wont be subbing until its fixed.

Same here during peak hours getting major lag and only on this game my internet average 15ms ... I get hit by stuff I'm not standing in, I also have players pause a couple seconds then go fast forward mode to catch up
