Really though, once you arrive there, it's not exactly a barrel of laughs - the place is depressing what with dead bodies lying out in the street and the nearby graveyard overflowing with burials - the stench of death is everywhere there.

But yes, Camp Drybone is found in Eastern Thanalan - it's located in a deep pit so you should be able to see the top of it's aetheryte sticking up over the horizon so just keep heading towards this after zoning from Central Thanalan (head north east from Black Brush Station past the 'Unholy Heir') and you should find it without too much trouble.

Ul'dah itself is pretty much the games slums. It's sad, esp. the church quests.

Go to the Black Brush Station and head toward the Unholy Heir (a circular watering hole with a land mass in the middle, lots of huge toads there), follow the road around the water and you'll eventually see those blue dots. So about North East?

Again, follow the road once you're in Drybone and you'll see the aetheryte.
