Key loggers by visiting a gil selling website. Busted, my good man!

Chances are SE will not help you and will keep your account suspended. They're perfectly within their rights to do this if they suspect you of buying gil or attempting to buy gil.

Oh for the love of...really? FFS people, just because someone's account was hacked does not mean they were buying or going to a gold buying site.

If you submitted an email ticket I'd recommend calling the phone number or using the Live Chat function to talk to someone and have them escalate it. It took me 9 days to get my account back, and no...i didn't f'n buy gold or visit a gold buying site.

Haha everyone's so touchy. If your accounts are getting legitimately hacked without keyloggers, then you guys have weak passwords. If you have a strong password there should be no way average gold sellers could hack your account. These people aren't geniuses, they phish for information and gain access to your accounts. I would suggest using the one-time password option as well.

It's not that everyone's touchy, it's just that we like to reply to stupid with stupid.

I don't know how it's stupid when key loggers are a real threat and they account for a majority of MMO account hijacking/hacking. It's the easiest way for these sellers to gain access to accounts.

I was being overly sarcastic in my first post, and for that I apologize. Sarcasm isn't transferable through the internet sometimes. So I'm sorry for any hurt feelings or bitter tastes. Wasn't my intention.

Still doesn't change the importance of people knowing that Keyloggers are real, and to never attempt to just "check out" a gil/gold selling website.

I have never been hacked in any one of my game accounts in the past 10-12 years of MMO gaming.

    1) Don't use a stupid easy to guess password. I'm paranoid and I use a max character limit random characters, punctuation and numbers password I change weekly.
    2) Don't use one email for everything. Don't stick your game accounts on emails that you post in random forums, or give to friends. Make a gmail (or better yet, make an alias on your ISP's given email) and only use it per game account.
    3) Obviously don't give out your information on suspicious sites. Always make sure when logging in that the certificate and URL match square-enix's real site.
    4) If you're lazy enough to use a password typed in a document and copy/paste, look up keepass the program. It's free, and it encrypts your passwords.
    5) Always make sure you virus scan, malware scan and spyware scan your computer frequently. I do mine once a day when I go to bed, with 6 different programs.
    6) Don't give out your information to anybody. Friends, family... I think the 2nd popular way to getting hacked is through someone you know. Even if they didn't hack you, who's to say they don't have a keylogger on their computer..

Slightly over the top and paranoid, but I agree with most of your points.

If you run those programs every day, do you at least have a script that runs it for you? That seems very tiresome to run those every day... Slight over kill haha.
