Entered PS3 code on the wrong PSN account?

Hey SE, I recently bought the PS3 Version of FFXIV in attempts to be able to play at a friends house where I cannot bring my PC.

I installed the game, and entered the code, and when I went to log in, I noticed I had to link my account to my PSN Account. Unfortunately, I didn't sign into my PSN account (my dumb mistake) and was still logged into my friends account! I didn't link the account, for obvious reasons, but now I cannot enter the code on my PSN account to give me access to the client.

Is there any way to get SE account registered to my PSN account with the same code? Can I accept the link on my friends PSN account and have the link switched to my PSN account?

Sorry, this situation really sucks. They will not unlink the accounts unless the psn account was compromised. For sure they will not "refresh" your code so as far as that goes you just bought your friend a game.

Probably your best recourse is to have your friend contact SE via live chat to complain that you linked his ps3 account to your SE account and that he'd like them unlinked. Their policy only allows them to unlink the accounts if his psn id was compromised by a third party. I suppose he could argue this is the case here as you technically had unauthorized access to his account and he cannot enjoy the game for himself without unlinking them first.

I hope you can get this resolved.

Yea its a major bummer, really makes me sad as I was just trying to show him the game. I guess I will have to call them or something. Sad face

I think this is the only thing you CAN do really.

Just take note, I believe SE has said to "please be careful" which PSN account you register FFXIV:ARR to.
This leads me to believe they might not be able to help you and that you just bought your friend the game... pretty much what was said.

if you need the game linked to your account Se cannot fix it as its a Psn accocunt.. Call up Se... Explain what happned.. There really good about fixing it you will need your friend there to confim and give his account info also.. After that they can swap the link to your account..

At best, it's Sony who could help out, since you applied a PSN code to the wrong account. Your friend would probably need to be in on the call too, since you're asking them to remove a game from his account.
Seems unlikely it'll work though.
You'll have to pony up the cash for another PS3 version I'm afraid (or your friend can buy one for you, since he has the one you paid for).
