[Suggestion] Friend Notifications

Hey all,

Just a suggestion, but it be a nice little addition to have some sort of notification of when someone in your friends list logs of or logs off the game, doesn't have to be anything flashy or noisy but a small pop in that would show the persons name and the online/offline sign.

I just find it irritating that half the time i don't know when my friends log on, and i have to keep checking my friends list.

Maybe even sometime in the future it would be nice if they half integrated your friends list in an accessible window in the log in screen showing you the friends who are only online right now or something similar.

What are your thoughts?

Ummmm....ew! I wouldn't want this....Dragonica had this feature and it was a continuous log spam.

But IMO, if they add the filter for these text separated from other system messages then its all good. With filters they could not only add from friendlist but even from equipped LS members, popping a notification when they log in or out.

Maybe they can add a feature that allows you to set per person on your friendlist / per linkshell if you want to be notified of a person logging in and out. This would avoid any continious log spam for people that wouldn't like it.

I understand about the log in/out spam, and i agree that a filter would probably need to be enabled. I never thought of the LS part but i think that'd be great too. Maybe they could make a Notify list in your Social Lists, you could then place the people you want to know whether they are online or not and that would solve the issue for anyone not wanting to use the system at all.

Well of course you should have a complete control of what is displayed in your chat log. for example the message from when someone from your linkshell or friends list logs on/out (I think it should be both) could be part of the system messages. Turn them off in a window and you don't have to worry about it. But it would be nice to know when your friends come online so you can say hi or good morning/evening or whatever I would like this feature.

What we need is a small pop up box that appears in the top left corner of the screen, saying "Friends Name" has come online.

Kind of like the way friends are displayed on PSN and XBL.

That works! I just want to know when someone I want to talk to is there or not. Would be nice...

Exactly, as the current system is at the moment you don't know if someone comes online unless your physically checking, I think this small feature would give help the communication between community members.
