I think its funny how everyone who says str > vit places a very specific numerical value on VIT, but is vague when it comes to the exact numerical value of STR.

Their logic is basically, "I know exactly what VIT does and it LOOKS insignificant. I don't know exactly how much self-healing STR gives, but I BELIEVE its significant!"

Well, if the current situation, like many say, is that WAR is not viable for the real end game content, ie. Coil, what does putting your points into VIT to buff your HP pool help? It doesn't matter if your HP pool is 5k, 7k, 15k, if the main problem is that healers cannot cap your HP because the bonus to healing is too small or alternatively that even if you cap your HP, you still get hit too hard to survive. Paladins are easier and more efficient to heal, but having a bigger hp-pool does not make a WAR any easier or more efficient to heal. There is simply a larger margin of error for healers.

So in content where you are viable to begin with, having higher hp pool simply allows healers more laid back gameplay, while foregoing that small bonus you would get speccing your stats other ways. So if you are content in your healer and hp-pool for the content you are doing, having 500 or 1000 more hp has no consequence.

What I am trying to say is not that STR or VIT is superior. Simply that in current condition that WAR is, stacking VIT does not have much value for the content that you are deemed viable (by popular opinion) anyway.

Every 4 points of str is ~1 additonal dmg to your total avg of both AA and WS. On parry the reduction values for each parry is based on strength tiers.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...2RW9LVmc#gid=1

to be pefectly honest that 30 points either way isn't screwing up your numbers in such a massive quanity were it can be noticed without watching mirrors of the data entry logs as the range of damage dealt by monsters if directly influcence by the def reduction (1 -(0.044 * Def). Str is actually harder to comeby though for those that use darklight accessories as food no longer gives str.

I just prove you that you get far more offensive stat (and overall, more stat) by going for 30 VIT instead of 30 STR.
You need to have a decent HP pool. Having anywhere less than 7k is a joke for end game.

For someone reason we've Invited the Paladin Wee wee riders to a "WArrior Tips & Tricks" forum to tell us anew what they been telling us before..... We've heard your opinion the first 2000 threads you created. Thx for adding it again....Feel free to add any OTHER tips about WAR if you can think past your gripe.

Now for the VIT. Again VIT has it's importance; it scales to HP on some curve; but it appears at LV50 that it's 18.1HP/1VIT. So those 30 VIT bonus points are worth 651* HP after Defiance. However it must be considered none of these points are in a vacuum. So it's suggest that 7k HP is the real deal for end game!! Why? The hardest hitting BOSS in game is King Tonberry and his damage can be mitigated by killing less baby tonberry's per Everybody's Grudge. Next to his I've seen Titan for 4.5k dmg on a timed rotation ( VERY VERY VERY WELL ANTICIPATED...*hint *hint emergency 3 IB refer up the page**)

so lets say you get hit for 1000 dmg before he does that WS (you're healers are way too busy dying and dodging...lets just say... and regen is down) then he hits you for the 4.5K, and your healers are still to busy and dying and running around to care.... then he hits you again for a 900 dmg....and your healers still could give a shit about you (you're a warrior after all...you're worthless to them).

Overall you've taken (assuming your HP was full when my scenario started) 6.4k dmg!! In this example if you have anything over 6.4k HP; you'd live that assault; and SEVER LAG OF HEALING

Still the example is unlikely ( or better yet an example of bad partying...need to reque Duty Finder). My point is While TONS of VIT increase your HP pool; there is such thing as TOO MUCH, NOT USED, CUTE TO LOOK AT.

Nevertheless all that to say if you really want that 651 HP to help you get to 7K HP (and negate your parry which does proc alot @ 500+ (STR 405 parry 25% dmg mitigated), and take and away 30*Berserk*Maim*Storm's Eye worth of damage dealing, self healing, and hate making, faster killing) then you can do that and encourage others to follow b/c you think your way is better.

Tassos ticks do generate enmity. All dmg generates enmity. Ask a SMN that throws all his dots at a boss if he generates enmity or not.
(PLD's Circle of scorn is severely underused because of the common misconception. In reality enmity is based on ALL damage/healing delivered).

@Javid if speed running is your answer then yes certainly increased DPS is more beneficial but in a party your MAIN job regardless of speed run or not is keeping hate on you. That's it. Bottom line.

Dealing as much damage as possible is secondary to keeping the mob(s) attention on you rather than the healer or dd.

Did you read what I just wrote?

I never said that over-time abilities didn't generate enmity. I pointed out that they generate all the enmity that would be generated over the duration all at the beginning. Each tick does no change the enmity at the time of the tick.

On a related note, is there a proper term for tick? It sounds weird to me.

I don't think tick dmg enmity is accounted for all at the execution of the attack. Then again maybe you're using a parser and can see the calculation are done all before actual dmg happens over time. If what you suggest is true (stacking two Fracture's back to back before the timer runs out for the FIRST one would generate 60 seconds worth of Fracture enmity UNDER 60 sec?!)

I am not using a parser. I've hunted for the link but failed to find it. It was stated by the dev team that any over time skills generate all enmity at the time of cast and not over the duration. I feel bad that I can't find the statement anywhere. Maybe I misread it in part as they were having a conversation on healing specifically. So maybe it only applies to heals over time. I'll keep hunting.
