    An endeavor into class improvement

    Stuns – Recommendation: Adjust the actualization of the stun in the world for other classes, and reduce their Recast time to enable more party and role flexibility.

    Some paladins don't like being stun machines. Some warriors hate being unable to interrupt abilities like Ifrit's Eruption (Hard Mode) because their animation time is too slow! Some dps want the ability to assist the part more effectively. One class that stun flexibility might be good to add to is dragoon. I'm not sure how accurate this claim is, but I've seen a couple of posts where people state that dragoon doesn't have enough to bring to a party for the okay damage that they do compared to summoner and black mage. People will want them so their tanks can tank!

    For fights that would only need one tank then, like Ifrit (Hard Mode) if a dps could stun, the duty finder could be changed as well to enable only one tank to queue up. This would allow more players to enter the instance. Difficulty could be adjusted.

    Crowd Control – Recommendation: Increase the amount of crowd control abilities in the game.

    Tanks are supposed to be more thoughtful about threat generation and the mobs that they pull. This is good, all said and done, and I like it. However, in my opinion, one place in which this plan fails (which includes a good part of the game), is when a tank has to deal with a large pull of monsters. The only classes than can crowd control are Thaumaturge and Archer, and the bind does not stop mobs from casting and only lasts for 10 seconds. Keep in mind: You are only allowed to have 2 dps members in many dungeons, so your chances of getting a black mage out of 5 potential classes which can be doubled up isn't exactly great. If tanks are meant to tank well, they would appreciate a wider variety of crowd control options.

    Tanks – Recommendation: Please just make warriors better by overhauling the wrath system.

    There are a lot of recommendations on the tank forums.

    Examples:
    Holmgang is like a death sentence in most fights.
    Storm's path: It doesn't heal enough to compensate for the loss of 15% heals received.

    Scholar Fairy – Recommendation: Please adjust the faerie so that it remains on “steady” even when a pet ability is clicked. Please also allow pet abilities to be written into macros.

    Animations – Recommendation: Please adjust the actualization of many abilities to be at a constant time.

    I love how animations are part of ability. However, I feel like this is causing more harm than good in regards to latency issues in dungeons, and for player abilities. A player's stun must go off when it needs to go off (i.e. the animation time cannot be longer than the monster's ability that must be stunned). A monster's cast should be avoidable 100% of the time while avoiding their “red zone” attacks properly. There are instances posted all over the forums where players instantly strafe the same way, every time, out of a zone, but get hit time and time again by an ability even when their latency is not an issue. Perhaps the “cast time” of a red zone ability could be increased slightly to compensate for this delay.

    P.S. Please add a more general category of class battle mechanics on the forums! I'm not sure where to post this... so here it is. lol
