It seems fine to me and probably for most as well...you won't see all the players on screen and so you probably think damn this mob dies fast...but actually there're like hundreds of them near you hitting that mob. If you want them to tune it up, there will be more problems and it'll be from the little complainers, "it's too hard, my gear is getting damaged too fast, too much repair", and other crap loads of nonsense...

Smart coding if definitely possible, I've seen in other games where a monster's MAX hp would jump around depending on how many people were close enough to be a threat to it but the percentage of health remain constant.

Also, maybe there's a cap on how large a FATE will scale, in terms of number of enemies spawned.

    Fates do not scale.
The stats of the enemies scales, not the amount of enemies.

They don't. If they do, it's so minor it isn't even noticable by a normal human.

They do scale. the questions is do they scale to handle large roaming bands of fate players, which I'm sure is far over 30 people?

They do scale, it's downright verifiable by parser for single/nm based fates, and verifiable by the naked eye by attending multiple-monster fates.

The scaling method differes from fate to fate.

However, scaling is capped and players are not properly distributing between zones and fates. Therefore the caps are being blown out of the water constantly during high activity hours leading people who can't bother to actually explore outside the the most populist areas to complain.

If a place is crowded, go somewhere else. There aren't any roaming Fate Bands near Bronze Lake and areas in other Regions of similar level scaling. Take a party, have fun and actually explore the game. You might enjoy it better.

There is nothing about FATEs that I think is good tbh, the high end boss fights would be better off as instanced battles, at least this way they could be tunes according to X amount of players and provide a bit of a challenge.

There is no auto party feature, scaling is there but it very minimal, everything is a zerg fight with far too much flashy animations, too many pets/minions/chocobos, can't see the boss/mobs sometimes, can't see party members sometimes.

    It's a completely failure.

It seems like there is tons more monsters when more people join the fate then when it's just you and one or two others.... I'm not sure what you mean by not scaling? If you mean monster level, well of course not your char is scaled down to the fates level.

I've seen fates spawn different amount of monsters. If that was scaling due to people involved, or just a RNG effect they threw in, I don't know.

I think by scaling we expect more HP/defence and not more monsters, at least that's the obvious thing which I would think of.

By throwing more monsters at a FATE you aren't really fixing things for slow casters classes, as much of the time things die before you even get a spell off, that's why people resort to instant cast AoE spamming to try and get some credit for participating.
