You know you can dye gear, right? Seriously. That's already in the game.

Anyway, naturally as a guy fond of uniqueness and roleplaying, I'm totally on board with vanity slots, but if it was a system already completed by 2.0 launch, then it stands to reason that it would have been included. Ergo, it probably isn't ready yet, and if FFXIV 1.0's launch should teach us anything, it's that nothing should be rushed, and things are ready when they're ready. Also, as fun as running around in siwmsuits and fireworks during events can be, I kind of also don't want to see that ridiculousness in a Titan run. You want to talk dumb-looking, well there you go. Of course I also don't want to ruin people's fun, so I'd like to have a feature where I can turn the thing off at my leisure. Would I care if they didn't add said feature? Probably not, but it'd be nice.

And it's probably taboo to even mention, but I think that if SE ever decided to go the route of F2P(or a hybrid model like The Old Republic), I can see this being a great source of monetization if they were to add say outfits from previous games in the series or similar styles, etc. and they didn't actually affect anything other than character aesthetics.
