It would be really nice to have this implemented before 2.2 if not 2.1. Also, I don't think transmogging would be a good idea. It seems unnecessarily complicated and could be problematic in the future. Furthermore, unless there will be overlapping textures with certain gear combos (which I honestly think players will notice and avoid on their own in any case), the limits of vanity slots should only go as far as war or magic differentiations, with crafting/gathering clothing equippable for vanity across the board. As for weapons, the vanity slots should be limited for the weapon type being used (sword, axe, staff, rod, 1 handed, 2 handed, etc) People should have full control (within reason) of what combinations of gear they want to wear.

On a side note, being able to equip seasonal/event gear across the board as vanity would be a lot of fun too.

But it needs to be done in a way that doesn't take up more space in my already nearly full armory chest.
