I hope they put this in for 2.1!
The early stages of the game when there are few armor selections is when it is most needed I think.
WHAT!? I assumed they were first priority in a game where everyone looks the same (and a genre defined by people wanting to stand out from the crowd). Add me to the list, please.

I'm kind of glad they confirmed (and reaffirmed) that 2.1 will not be when it is implemented. The quantity of gear variety is still a bit low for this feature to have the oomph people want. by 2.2 xiv could have sufficient quantities of outfit styles, however.
I see your point, yet I'd still take a limited choice over no choice at all any day.
It might not blow people away with the current number of gear models we have available but it would tremendously help the people who absolutely hate the way the gear they have to use looks.
Personally I find few options > no options. Plus with creative mixing of parts and dyes (when they're allowed >_>) can be used to create rather unique styles even with limited options.
