DPS meters already?

so where do we find this secret dps meter?

It's on xivdb.com, the ff14 data base site. However, it's broken as f***, and not worth your time. Most people can't even get it to start up, it'll just crash every time when you try to.

I just got out of Garuda HM and then comes this player telling me that I don't have the equipment and that my DPS is low. That they were using an app to see the DPS ??

If they are going to make players leave the fight on duty finder, then they should not use the duty finder at all.

If my equipment is low, then duty finder should have a gear check and add gear rating too like WoW then and then I will know that I couldn't queue for that fight!

And, by the way, there WILL be a gear check in patch 2.1. Will look at the average item level of your gear.

What is your gear level? What are you wearing to Garuda?

This reminds me of the time I argued with a full AF pld at titan, he had 4.5k hp and I just said it was insulting that he queued for titan because he's pretty much a one shot and it'd be annoying to heal him through stomps after mountain busters. Back to garuda, she has no real requirements like "DL only" titan doesn't even need DL for dps or healers, honestly, having a garuda weapon and some ok gear is all you really need.

I've had a group turn me down for titan because I didn't have full DL then I went and beat titan with another group as the top dps, it honestly isn't a huge factor if you have 6 more dex, str or 12 more determination etc.

Weapon is what matters for dps. They're right if don't have a ilevel55 or higher weapon.

Yes, your gear is definitely too low. You are entering one of the (essentially) last fights in the game with gear that wouldn't get you through AK unless the other DPS was exceptionally kitted out and had relic+1. Fair enough wanting a system to tell you you are under geared, but you should be able to evaluate your own gear against the stage of content to establish if you should be queuing or not. Another analogy I like is, "If everyone had the same gear as you, would the run be successful?" If the answer is no, you have more gearing up to do.

There is definitely a difference between being overzealous or elitist about requirements (ie must have full DL set and relic!), and having someone tell you you are under geared when you actually are. As pointed out above, having level 20-30ish accessories just doesn't cut it, and there is a far greater gap of simply '6' of your main stat between those items, and Darklight/WP gear.

In your current state, I'd recommend starting the CM grind a lot of us have already done, or are currently in the process of doing, and at least replace your accessories, or even start doing Wanderer's Palace. As a (perhaps overcautious) rule of thumb, if you can't clear AK, you probably shouldn't be in HM Garuda.
