forgiving healing, and fun at work

so I've nerrower my job choices down to either white mage or scholar and i was hoping to get some help with the choice. (fyi I'm too low level to post on healing)

    1) which job is more forgiving as healer (meaning lets you make mistakes and still be effective)

    2) which is more fun to play (just your opinion, and why)

    3) any tip for healing in the ps3

    4) any other helpful tips

Both classes require you to be on your toes.

I enjoy White Mage personally but I hate summons.

    I couldn't tell you

    Get Swiftcast.

For lower level content, SCH imo is far easier. For endgame content, its hard to say, but I'd solely say WHM for Medica2, and the fact the controller is harder to use, so when u need to control ur pet more for endgame, you will want a mouse/keyboard.

But if you plan to remain casual, go with SCH.

So many times i enter a dungeon with bad tanks and DPS, where the fight drags on forever, and i need to spam cures non stop.
That fairy sure helps my MP, along with aetherflow at lower levels. (the fairy has a 10 foot radius or something, no where near as far as the description claims, so dont stand far away, and make sure you are at the same elevation as them. if the tank is on some stairs, and ur 3 feet below or above them, that fairy wont do cr@p to help.)

I'm a WHM and it's getting better in fun I guess. Took me 35+ to have fun in dungeons.
I'm trying to make a SCH because it honestly it looks fun. I play PS3 and that worries me for SCH.
Dunno how well I would be able to control it.

To add to Claire's Fairy range: You probably want to set her somewhere and place her where the whole team can get a heal.
Wouldn't SCH be a bit more forgiving since you're getting a free fairy heal?

whm does get to be more fun around level 35. I haven't had any trouble healing on ps3. Targeting party members is a snap if you press up/down on the cross pad. Macros make it even easier to heal. The only downside is you use up four slots on the crossbar for one skill. Focus on just healing at first until you can get a rhythm down so you can learn when to sneak some dd in. Practice in the early dungeons. It gets a lot more interesting when you can sleep mobs. Once you learn repose, use it. It makes your job a lot easier provided you tank is marking and the dps are cooperating.

Oh! One last thing. Make sure you have cleric stance off!! You will struggle big time if left on. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm comfortable turning it on and off when I need it, so I just keep it off. It may not be the most effective way to play job but better safe than sorry until I get more confident in my skills.

I'm a Scholar, and loving it so far. The only complaint I have is we are lacking AoE heals - We have one of our own, but it is very weak potency, and adds a very weak bubble. The best use I can find for it is using it BEFORE a party wide AoE damage happens and trying to prevent it.

Scholar should be fine on the PS3, just make sure you go to Pet Actions and put at least four of her hotbar moves onto your own - Place, Heel, Embrace, and... Her AoE regen, I can't remember the name. I find the best way to play Scholar is to literally spam the fairy's Embrace manually, since it is only slightly weaker than your own Physick and costs no MP, and when the tank gets to 50-60% HP use Physick or Adloquium. The hardest part about Scholar is managing the fairy, and placing her in a spot where everybody - or at least the tank - will get the AoE regen and AoE magic defense buff. If you can manually place her by having it on your action bar, it should be a fair bit easier.

It is about half of what a WHM Heal does and the "bubble" essentially adds the amount healed in bubble form. (half of WHM heals doubled are the same) So, it is technically possible over heal with it. (AKA the targets be at full health with an additional bubble that acts the same as HP)

SCH works just fine on controller as long as you disable the pet hotbar and use the Actions menu to place the pet actions on your bar manually.
