Not really, it ll be Realm vs Realm daoc style. I basically came on FF because of who is in charge of the PvP here, since there's not a single good pvp mmo out there. And this title will be one

I can't think of a game that has had worse PvP than what this will be.

Regardless of what kind of a PvPer you are, I find it highly premature to judge it before it's even released. The signals I'm getting based on Yoshida's stance and his background of MMOs played, is that they are taking their time with it in order to do it right.

As some of you have already mentioned, the reason why we have elected to display the names of your opponents as "Fresh Meat" is to prevent harassment from occurring. We feel this is an important aspect to address to create a fun and comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy PvP.

how will you tell your team which one to attack? "HEY GET THE MONK" "WHICH ONE?" "UHH". See the problem here? Names are IMPORTANT.

I don't know about the other aspects, as I will wait for PVP to be launched before I judge... but isn't that what the game markers are for? Same way a tank marks targets in a dungeon, I'm sure you can mark enemies as targets in this fashion. No names needed.

I did not get to beta test pvp because I was not the level to do it and everyone I asked had not tried it. I think this is an interesting way to do it but I have no idea if it will stop drama. Maybe dye for some armor that can be dyed, also FC "Gear Customization" options on armor will be a distinction.

What about naming each character by their class/job? This would prevent harassment and still provide easy communication.

Fresh meat is hilariously terrible! We should have only our grand company rank or something shown.

Regardless, I hope more character customizations will be implemented so you don't have a million clones on the same gear named fresh meat.
