Dunno how you can be an Elitist in this game, when end-game is kinda borked atm lmao and there is no real raids.
Good night folks lol.
I have, it's called a player that has a grasp on the game mechanics and is trying to be the best he or she can while expecting their fellow players to also hold themselves up to certain standards.
If you're not up to that standard and you're trying to get into high level content with them some of them may indeed call you out on that.
It's not that they think they are better than you, they want you to be a better player.

ive seen thier attitude 2wards tanks/healers its utter disgusting how they speak to them n the language LOL
i played a tank for 8 years in my old game n ran a guild just as long... if any1 spoke down to team members or guild mates = i brought out the kickin boot no matter how long they had been a part of the guild, games r supposed to b fun not to b the best or belittle other players
I really do not mean to offend, but as a non-native English speaker I really have a hard time deciphering that SMS speak of yours.
Would you mind switching to Keyboard English? Thank you.
Now on the "elitist" topic; Anyone that criticises another player on either gear or playstyle seems to get the "Elitist" stamp by the majority of players these days.
Now, once again.
You seem to be under the illusion that all of us are laughing at you, trust me, we are not.
Playing is for fun, I completely agree, but fun for us is winning and being the best we can.
We have all respect for those that do not play like that and we really try to stay away from you, but if you tread the big boys' playing field with that attitude we will have your ass.
Now you can get all sulky and stand in the corner calling people "Elitists" or you can ask the person that is criticising you what he or she thinks you are doing wrong.
One makes you better at the game, the other doesn't, choose wisely.
Drawing the "other MMO" card; I have played FFXI for nine and a half years among the top tier players, as a healer and as damage dealer. But guess what, this is Final Fantasy XIV. A whole different game, with different mechanics.
Any experience you may have in another game means nothing here.

I'm not sure how you can statistically measure toxicity in a community.
Some people just don't know how to properly handle their identity when they're completely anonymous besides a bunch of text that nobody else can use. It's pointless to tell people not to assist in a community's toxicity, because if they really are toxic to begin with, they really won't care what you have to say. For games with social aspects and interactions, half the struggle is learning to deal with (or rather, not deal with) people who have the sole intent of making your gaming experience worse. The other half of the social aspect is learning how to fully utilize the game's potential through collaboration.
This is the kind of thoughts that I have issues with, the hell "big boys playfield"?
Theres criticism and toxicity. The way "critique" is delivered is important.

To this I do agree, however there is a reason people at a certain point are beyond friendlyness.
When it comes to information about games, including this one, it is abundant. Strategies and minimum requirements for fights and dungeons are everywhere, there are many class and job guides even in the first few google searches and yet people seem to be completely disregarding them for the sake of "I want to have fun".
Of course we can stay nice and friendly and explain to every single person how to play and do their jobs, but there are a lot of people that seem to be allergic to even friendly advice.
And at a certain point, patience with those people will just run out.
As Spawnie has said earlier, the true elitist is a one in a million. The people you call out as one do not deserve this title.
As long as you stay open to criticism, even if it contains a bit of snark and sarcasm, the game will be more enjoyable for both the casual as well as the more hardcore players.

Yes I have.
What you're thinking of, aren't elitists, but self centered people. Actual elitists, are people that either belong to the more 'elite' groups of society(such as the rich), or those who use their 'elite' status in either knowledge, power, etc to strive to make things better for everyone.
