    Can't Buy Crysta

    Hello,

I am Brazilian and my account has Brazil listed as my country. This puts me in NA for region purposes, but it may be why I'm having this problem.

I attempted to contact SE support via e-mail, but I got cut-and-paste response about errors when adding credit card information. The agent didn't even read my question, so I will post it here:

I can't add Crysta to my account.

I have read all the information I could find on the site about Crysta. Not a word about Crysta being unavailable in some countries. If I click to add Crysta, I get an error after selecting the amount:

    ERROR (11000)
    A technical issue has occurred.
Try accessing the site again. If the issue still has not been resolved, please contact the Square Enix Support Center.
The error is unspecific so not much help there, either. I have links to pages about payment methods and Crysta in my account management page that don't say anything about availability.

Basically, credit card is the only option available to me, and I'd like to know if that is the case or if Crysta isn't available to me due to a bug of some sort. I don't wish to renew my subscription by credit card, but without Crysta and NA game time cards available, I have no other options. And with the bugs with credit card authorization happening, I may very well be completely locked out of subscribing.

Ironically, the support agent who replied said that if I get errors, I should choose a different payment method. That's my issue in the first place!

If Crysta is unavailable to me (or any other countries), please at least include that information somewhere. This is incredibly frustrating because I bought the game hoping to use Crysta (and the payment methods that can be used to purchase it, like paypal, ultimate game cards etc), and there was never any information anywhere that it wouldn't be available to me. The only information about availability, in the service agreement, specifically implies availability issues pertain to people living outside of North and South America:

If you live outside of the United States and Canada, and outside of North America and South America, the Crysta System may possibly be available to you pursuant to the policies of Square Enix Co., Ltd. or Square Enix Ltd., depending on where you are located.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It may be a pain because of the extra step, but you may have to resort to buying a UGC code and then adding the Crysta by applying that code. It would essentially be just like buying a UGC card from a store, you just would be purchasing the code and getting it from an email or directly in the online store's shopping cart instead of having a physical card with a code printed on the back.

You can find them on Amazon and Newegg sometimes, but they are available at various sites online. Here's their page to online retailers:
    http://ultimategamecard.playspan.com/buyonline.html

They also have a find a store page there that may help you find someone locally to get physical cards. For Brazil, they have links to E-PrePag and Paymentez for finding local stores.

That shows up before you even get payment options. It doesn't allow you claim Ultimate Game Cards at all. The only way to claim it is to harass UltimatePay/Playspan Customer Service to do Square Enix's job.

    Error 11000

Yes Square Enix has really messed up that system. That error indicates your region is not allowed to buy crysta, because under their system Brazil isn't part of their designated 'america'. In the same way all the users that set their country as Puerto Rico aren't recognized as part of the USA lol (even though we are). The only way to get this to work is to create a new Squeenix account with country set as United States and presto the crysta system is available. Btw they aren't willing to fix the problem directly on your account.

The only 'advice' Squeenix offers is to transfer the ownership of the game to a new account (losing character, legacy and everything else attached to your account) or buying the game again Rofl.

    Such a laughable customer service.

    I'm in the same situation.

And, in my opnion, they will not fix this. A lot of people here have the same problem, some even from US and Japan, but SE close her eyes for this.

    It's a shame.

If that's the case, then it's a likely a legal issue, so yeah.. SE probably won't be doing anything about it.

Some countries have some screwy law when it comes to virtual property/currency, and SE is just avoiding it all together so they don't get into any weird situations with it.

If you can't do the alternate region thing, then your only option may be to get the new FFXIV game cards, provided those aren't going through the Crysta system too and are available to you.

No, it's not a legal issue, it's laziness and poor design. If you're going to sell boxed sets of a subscription game in a country, you have no excuse for not setting up your billing system to accommodate it's citizens.

Actually it is a legal issue, crysta is not the only payment option.

Which don't work because MogStation is broken and lots of people are having problems trying to get Square Enix to accept their cards, which is why people actually WANT to waste their money on Crysta now.
