Question did you play Final Fantasy XI? Most likely not with that response. The Discipline I am talking about that FFXI players had instilled in them through the difficult and training to work together rather then just up and quit for what ever reason. Putting grudges aside and attitude in order to get the job. For instance, Dynamis lol 72hr cooldown you sure as hell aren't going to be dropping group or quitting due to a fail pull / attitude with someone else / or what ever other reason. I am simply askimng Square Enix to continue to push for its strict governing of game play mechanics. It's honestly not frustration, it's coming from another community by square-enix as i have said again, instilled discipline in its game play, which is being negated here in FFXIV.

Yeah I read that.. then I read your ideas for fixing it. They were bad. Players don't need to be further punished for bailing on a situation they don't feel like being in.

This is where reporting comes into play and what not, but still 15 minutes not enough >> if a group wants to torment someone to quit they can be reported and have action taken against them. There needs to be some type of new guideline for abandoning instances. 15minutes its really not enough ~ I for one am a positive person and I work to get things solved I would perfectly be fine with getting banned from a particular instance for the remaining day if I were to abandon.

I agree at the same time it just makes it really easy to abuse the system so i'm willing to go with the latter, FFXI managed with it long cooldowns for almost a decade im sure FFXIV can manage as well with harsh punishments. People want everything handed to them easy that's just not how its gona work if you can't handle "playing with randoms" make your own group. The option is there to choose who you play with Square Enix made that available now for that actually play with randoms and are willing to work with them deserve to have that experience as well.

#1 I agree with you, Players don't need to be further punished for bailing on a situation they don't feel like being in.

#2 Some people enjoy helping other and playing with random people and are willing to deal with possible issues.

Answer: Don't randomly Que for instances, form your groups so everyone knows what they are getting into.

That is why I agree with some form of greater restriction on abandoning.

If you make it so they can't quit they will just go afk or rush to their and your death over and over. I say this because people will say, Oh we will report them foe afking in dungeon so instead of afking they intentionally die quickly so the party wipes knowing that they can't get in trouble for playing poorly.

Heres a good example of why a half day/full day ban would be stupid.

I got into Arlum Vale, our tank couldn't hold aggro, so our healer complained. the tank reacted like a child, and started calling the healer names. So now we have a fight going on between those two, all before the first boss mind you. We start the boss, the tank dies on purpose, we all die, we all respawn, except for the tank. No, he's inclined to sit in their, and keep the boos area locked, all to spite just the healer. Asking him to please not punish the whole party because of an issue with one person did no good either. No, instead, he just didn't respond, and stat there. So what are we to do? We can't kick him from the party as no system is in place. The healer quits thinking it will make the tank play. Now its just 3 of us, tank is still in FU mode. Bard quits leaving me and the tank, two more people join, tank still sits there. 5 minutes go buy, they leave. I'm forced to leave as well.

They'd need to implement a vote kick system before they increased abandoning penalties.

I doubt you would have rolled into a dungeon with a 72hr lockout with just anybody. You would have vetted their gear and where possible gone with people you knew could stay out of the poo. If, heaven forbid, the new player you just took a chance on proved to be hopeless beyond redemption, you'd remember the name so you needn't run with them ever again.

The Duty Finder gives us none of these. The anonymity provided by it encourages some people to attempt to coast their way to free gear on the backs of people they might never encounter again and who currently can't do anything to get rid of them.

I know I know, if I want greater control over the gear and skill of the people I am playing with I can feel free to form a group of my own outside of the duty finder but, then again, if you don't want people leaving your dungeon before the end you can form your own groups too.
