Abandoning Instaces - Duty Finder Behavior Issue!

The Entire Duty finder is a great System however! I believe it makes it extremely simple for people to just abandon their groups...with rarely any penalty in place for such behavior.

***15 minutes is not enough to cause people to second guess their actions.***

I would like to see SE provide stricter punishment for those that seem to find this type of action acceptable in this game. Final Fantasy XI taught discipline and a need to persevere yet FFXIV is promoting trolling among other simple minded behaviors. I suggest a longer penalty or temporary ban from that specific instance for half a day to a day in order to educate players to persevere through difficulties and working with other players.

No it's not, 15 Minutes go make a Sandwich then come back to que and be Douche Bag again. Make it 25 Minutes for Abandon your group Members if Duty started.

Still think 15 is plenty. Have you seen a group torment a player just to get them to drop group so that they can avoid the debuff? It needs to stay 15 minutes.

This is where reporting comes into play and what not, but still 15 minutes not enough >> if a group wants to torment someone to quit they can be reported and have action taken against them. There needs to be some type of new guideline for abandoning instances. 15minutes its really not enough ~ I for one am a positive person and I work to get things solved I would perfectly be fine with getting banned from a particular instance for the remaining day if I were to abandon.

Yeah I read that.. then I read your ideas for fixing it. They were bad. Players don't need to be further punished for bailing on a situation they don't feel like being in.

I agree at the same time it just makes it really easy to abuse the system so i'm willing to go with the latter, FFXI managed with it long cooldowns for almost a decade im sure FFXIV can manage as well with harsh punishments. People want everything handed to them easy that's just not how its gona work if you can't handle "playing with randoms" make your own group. The option is there to choose who you play with Square Enix made that available now for that actually play with randoms and are willing to work with them deserve to have that experience as well.

#1 I agree with you, Players don't need to be further punished for bailing on a situation they don't feel like being in.

#2 Some people enjoy helping other and playing with random people and are willing to deal with possible issues.

Answer: Don't randomly Que for instances, form your groups so everyone knows what they are getting into.

That is why I agree with some form of greater restriction on abandoning.

While your frustration is understandable, there are many more reasons for a person to leave a group other than trolling.

Question did you play Final Fantasy XI? Most likely not with that response. The Discipline I am talking about that FFXI players had instilled in them through the difficult and training to work together rather then just up and quit for what ever reason. Putting grudges aside and attitude in order to get the job. For instance, Dynamis lol 72hr cooldown you sure as hell aren't going to be dropping group or quitting due to a fail pull / attitude with someone else / or what ever other reason. I am simply askimng Square Enix to continue to push for its strict governing of game play mechanics. It's honestly not frustration, it's coming from another community by square-enix as i have said again, instilled discipline in its game play, which is being negated here in FFXIV.
